We saw KK's Priest earlier this year, and a road trip to see them again is very likely. Judas Priest tickets were high dollar for this year's tour. I bought a ticket farther back than I would have liked, but if they had been reasonably priced I would have been closer. Iron Maiden plays in November, but we bought tickets in January or February. Those were not cheap tickets. Sammy Hagar is great in concert, but the prices have kept me from buying a ticket. 1 Quote

ChugD Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I have seen Maiden more than any other band. It is diminishing returns at this point. I saw them in 1999 when Bruce came back and they were playing the classics. Hammerstein ballroom in NYC. Small theater. We paid a bouncer $5 to let us sneak past the roped off access to the balcony seats right next to the stage. It was a defining moment of my life. We were at eye level with the giant animated Eddie behind the drum set. 2 Quote
Steve Haynie Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 The higher priced Iron Maiden tickets are Trooper VIP which means they get us into a special area with food and drinks (Trooper beer) available, and they are in a good spot on the side of the arena. The other two are general admission floor tickets. If we win early entry then those floor tickets will be used. If not, the seats with perks will have to do. 1 Quote

They've done that before (even after The Pandemic), so why not now? Besides, I've done many a cross-country bag-drag over the years (mainly with the military), attending events is OK (but only if I really, really want to go in the first place), but I absolutely loathe the 'getting there' travel part. Wasn’t sure we’d get the chance, but he’s coming within striking distance, so it was a no-brainer given his health situation.
