Used to be mine and Joe paid a LOT less that that for it but he did put electronics in it, get it overspray and made it shine, he also got a logo for it. $4999 is a big ask but it does have 3 signatures you will never get again. I bought it from Hamstd. IMG_0330.jpeg

"Signatures" belong on paper NEVER on guitars....................they might be famous but having them on a guitar devalues it IMHO.

Of course there's no mention in the listing of Hamer logo and electronics/hardware added. Furthermore, it says "Everything is original or period correct.". Buyers are misled into thinking everything is original.

Joe was actually very easy to deal with. “Or period correct “ is a lot better than saying nothing at all. Smart purchaser asks what is what. Will he get his asking price? Well, it is Reverb after all. I say cash will prevail and I will bet he takes less. Stadium logo might not be correct if it is ‘82-early’84 I might think though.

So what exactly is misleading about this statement?  If you have a specific inquiry, ask.  The only thing that’s not original or period correct are the wires, solder, large Hamer logo, and truss rod cover.  Impossible to find.  Dave at FOTN made that for me.  Ever try sourcing early 80s Hamer pots or early 80s DiMarzio pickup rings?  Don’t sit back and judge me.  This guitar is legit down to the period correct knobs and Hamer Vector case which were provided by Peter F.  You guys are like a bunch of old ladies.

That’s a shame.

Naptha should be able to take all that off without ruining the finish. 😉

I didn't find your "everything is original or period correct" statement misleading at all.....until you came on and started naming the things that are neither.

Do you know what period correct means?

Not sure if that will work, as another layer of finish was added to preserve signatures.

Where I got the guitar it had had something applied to the guitar with a brush to preserve the signatures. I finally let the guitar go because I couldn’t bring myself to sand that off and lose autographs. Joe offered to buy it and looks like he has da good job putting it together.

I am not much on autographed guitars, but I have two of them.

Willie Dixon's signature is sort of like having your guitar blessed.  Do not question it.  Just feel the aura.

You got me there.  I forgot about the truss rod cover being brand new.  Wires and solder?  Really?  You can go back to eating your crayons now, Karen.

That’s it for me.  Buy it or don’t.  I don’t care.  I’ve restored a half dozen Hamers now that otherwise would have been on the scrap heap.  If that gets your panties in a knot, so be it.  Looking forward to seeing you, some more than others, this fall in my neighborhood for the Hamer 50th.
