Khan Pac amp - Incredible

Here's a very obscure little amp. The Khan PAK - 2 channel head. I picked up one up used and it totally rocks. Some of the best hot-rodded Marshall sounds I have ever heard. Just screams and crunches like a mother. Definitely worth checking out. 18 watts, but definitely loud enough for gigging. EFX Loop. Tiny! My only gripe is... it has a fan and it's fairly loud (Has two fan speed settings, but low is still noticable) Wouldn't be an issue on stage, but for home recording, it could be, unless you put the mic'd cab away from the head a bit. But, OMG, what a tone this little beast has. Check out the videos, I think you'll be impressed too!

Khan was the great amp designer behind the Reason amp line. He thinks outside the box in terms of amp topology. Not the same ole Fender/Marshall clones... 😕 

He has also designed for Crate & the newer Ampeg & Magnatone lines. 

I met him years ago at the Nashville Amp Show. Very nice gentleman. 👌

I didn't know about the crate connection, but this looks like it's an evolution of the power block chassis.  I'd like to try one out

I freakin love this song. And when the guitar solo begins and the jackass camera man pans AWAY from the guitar… and then WALKS AWAY to miss the entire thing…I had to actually calm myself down lol It is the single worst camera and editing job I have ever seen including all amateur pron.

Damn are they lucky the amp sounds good.

He really was a well trained and expert performer.  A brilliant dude. However, I'll always remember him best for his promotion of seats covered in "soft (alternately, "rich") Corinthian Leather."

I was actually wondering the same thing. Guys like Eric Johnson get really FAT tones out of Strat, but then EJ's signal chain--from pickups to speaker cabs--are anything but traditional Strat single coil elements.
