help with a PRS

Is this guitar a fake?

Is that serial number added in the pic?  I've never seen a PRS w/a serial number in a font like that.  Definitely not the original bar, and if that serial number is complete and accurate, I have my doubts.  That would put the guitar as a 1992, I believe, and I don't think the electronics are accurate (can PM my suspicions, if you'd like).  This looks like it's $3 bill territory.

Yes, the 2 prefix is '92, but the subsequent number is from '93. So, hmmmmm.

It's a joke. PRS = Blooz Lawyer/Dentist/Physician.  Pretty sure Beezer didn't mean anything snarky by his comment.

Now, regarding your question. The serial looks like nothing I've ever seen on a USA PRS.  I've only ever seen the serial numbers hand lettered with ink marker.  The logos on the tuners look suspicious as well.

I would add to the comment re the pickup configuration not looking familiar for the early 90s. At least from what I recall  from 30 years ago.

Also, FWIW, PRS does sometimes stamp the serial number into the wood. The example of that which I have readily at hand is a Wood Library "Ted" with a rosewood neck.

Oh jeez that is fake. I have never seen that type of serial number, and those tuners? That also looks nothing like an SE import model.

Many thanks everyone for the info. There was no price discussed. It was a Reddit post asking for info and quickly deleted once I posted your insight. Others had called fake, too. I suspect the OP was the seller, wanted to see how it looked to people who know. 

I'm amazed at all the fake guitars out there, never woulda thunk it so. First, the effort that goes into building them, and second, the people who buy without making sure of being legit. What are the most faked guitars? I would think Fenders and Gibsons. Are Hamers also faked, and to what extent?

Holy shit, thanks for the link! I just bought a 1946 Fender Telecaster signed by Adolf Hitler! Serial number "-6"! It only cost $130 (plus $2,800 for shipping from Germany.) Score!!
