Yes, marked as sold.

A Floyd guitar with this in the electronic cavity. Tone sucker all the way. 😅 You will need a Bradshaw rig for this one.

This one definitely piqued my curiosity. The vagueness around who/how it was actually built and to what extent it’s really a Hamer guitar, is/was a deal breaker for me. Well, that and the price tag.

Looks like it would be a really fun one to play though.

I own the Rand website (haven't had time to finish it off) and have a few Rands myself.  I have never seen this one show up, so it's rather interesting.

In essence, it looks like the "Witch" style Rand but with the regular Rand style headstock seen on the superstrat versions.  The sculpting and horns are shaped different and are wider than the standard Witch Rand.

Rand put the serial numbers under the top Floyd cavity - curious to see if there is one.

Also interested to see when this was actually completed.  The Rands pre-date the Calis of course, and I always had a gut feeling that the Rands influenced the Calis.  If this piece truly was collaborated with Jol, that's an interesting connection.

Curious to find out more on this one.

That band Red Siren was from here in Chicago. Brandt and drummer Greg Potter. Guitarist was a doctor ($$$$$$$) I think. Singer was a local and had some sisters in the biz too. So, not funny that it could be a Hamer for reals.

I think there was a degree of artistic licence behind the use of the term “doctor” here…

He's a nutritionist, apparently. He's "Dr. Robert Haas" on his book covers, but his bio on Amazon and LinkedIn says he has an MS. That definitely raises an eyebrow for me. I don't like credential shopping and misrepresentation.

Edit to add - Bingo!

This latest string of the-check-is- in-the-mail promises comes from Robert Haas, who is not a medical doctor, even though he uses the "Dr." before his name, but rather the holder of a PhD in nutrition from Columbia Pacific University in San Rafael, California. Columbia Pacific, however, is not a university in the traditional sense since it has no professors or students on campus. It is not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Nor is it accredited by the State of California, although it is "authorized" to operate while it seeks accreditation.

A PhD in Nutrition awarded by a virtual institution "seeking accreditation"?

Sounds legit. Lol

There is a certain nationally known "reverend" who is never disputed in his title even though he is self-ordained.

Titles are more valuable than credentials.

Elvis was the "King."  Chet Atkins bestowed the title of "Certified Guitar Player" on a handful of musicians.

When it comes to guitar players and doctor titles the only ones that matter to me are Dr. Feelgood, Somebody Get Me A Doctor, and Doctor Doctor.

"...who is not a medical doctor, even though he uses the "Dr." before his name..."

But a PhD is legitimately referred to as Dr. It's not not the same as an MD.

This ain't defending Robert Haas' madey-uppy university, but since Missus Polara has a PhD in biomedical engineering, I'm used to seeing scientific posters and papers with a butt-ton of legit "Dr."s on them.

I am a Reverend, and while not self-ordained, it wasn't much more difficult than that.
