I debated posting this in fear of getting it bought right under my nose, but I both emailed and called them and it’s like they don’t want to answer questions (no email reply and out me on hold for 30+ minutes when I called befor I just hung up)so here it is.

Anybody know what model/specs this might have? I assume it may be 24.75” and 1 5/8” nut but wanted to try to verify from the store.

Hamer Doublecut

I could always buy and use the return window in case it wasn’t my specs, but I’d prefer not to haha.

That’s a SS2 I believe.  The real experts on those will probably be along shortly.  At that price I doubt it’s gonna sell instantly.

There’s still time to take advantage of GC’s 10% off sale.

It’s a custom ordered artist guitar, formerly from the Fung Collection:

It was posted here with a bunch of other guitars he had moved/was moving a few months back.  Link to the thread is above…

So it arrived and there are dents in the 23rd and 24th fret as if a hammer hit the strings.

GC extended the return period and want me to bring it in on Tursday for their tech to see if he can repair at their cost.

Wish me luck.

Very unique guitar. Seymour Duncan Stacked SIngle coils, an added trim pot in the cavity. Need to investigate the green cube. It's glued in.

Very interesting; hope GC can take care of those frets for you! What's the green thing taste like? May be a lime Starburst.

It's that radioactive thing that Homer Simpson drops, so that's where it ended up!

The GC manager called San Fran and District manager and they were going to pay the luthier out of my payment to them.

If I didn't like his repair and I returned it it would be minus the luthier payment.

I returned the guitar because I don't know his work.

The manager of the store said it was a smart move and he's going to get it repaired and contact me once it is done.

Hopefully, I'll actually hear from him and the price will be about the same and repaired correctly.

Weird business practices there.

They make 75% too 100% on a trade in for cash.

PAF probably got 1,750 to 2,000 for that guitar and they sold it for $3500 and they couldn't give their luthier $150-$200 for a repair to keep the sale alive.

I know $3500 was too much but I really liked it and it is a one off.

Anyway, better luck next time which I don't think will be happening.

No.  There have been a number of them (custom ordered) over the years.

The manager fixed it. No extra cost. I'm headed that way to check it out. He didn't make it active on the site and he called me which was super nice for a GC manager but he also plays and collects, vintage Fender and Ibanez Prestige guitars.

Going to ask about a Black Friday Discount as there were buckle dents on the back.

It doesn't hurt to ask.

It looked like an Electolytic Capacitor encased to hide the Secert Squirrel Tone or Secret Sauce Tone. If I buy it I'll try to figure out the circuit and make a diagram/schematic and post it.

Probably gently remove casing with an X-Acto blade to get to the inside of the Starburst.

Just returned from GC the Fretboard was leveled, crowned and cleaned.

Was given $200 discount from GC manager.

Plays so much better and still have 3 days to return.

Going to check a few things out.

If I return it I'll post it here if someone wants to pick it up.

Will not cut open green cube unless I own it. Going to put strings on, Titanium lock blocks and fiddle with the internal pot for an achievement unlock!

Secret Squirrel Knob Fiddler!

It is lime Starburst.  They age as good as Twinkies but sound better.

I'm guessing that it's a simple gain stage preamp, assuming that's a combination Tremolo cover/Battery compartment cover.

No batteries that I can see.

No battery in Tremolo space. No routed compartment like a Sustainiac.

That's why I want to cut it open to see what it holds.

Chris Matthes suggests it is a volume trim pot for the Stacked Single Coils to bring the volume to same level and seeing it is connected to the two single coil positions on the switch I agree with him.

I feel it would be useful to other players to share the knowledge once I figure it out.

Yeah it's weird because there's a pot in the compartment as if it was a gain pot for the humbucker. Now I'm thinking the green square is a second tone cap.
