alantig Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 As MCChris might say, taken way before his time. Legendary musician Quincy Jones has died. He was 91. Jones’ publicist, Arnold Robinson, confirmed to PEOPLE that he died on Sunday, Nov. 3 at his home in Los Angeles, surrounded by his family. The news was first reported by the Associated Press. “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” the family said in a statement. “And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.” "He is truly one of a kind and we will miss him dearly; we take comfort and immense pride in knowing that the love and joy, that were the essence of his being, was shared with the world through all that he created. Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones’ heart will beat for eternity.” Worked with some of the greats - Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, and produced "We Are The World". RIP, sir, and thank you. 2 3 Quote

Disturber Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 RIP Quincy Jones. Sweden was your second home. I was a neighbour to his Swedish son Quincy Jones III when I lived in my first little appartment many years ago. He later moved to the US to be with his dad. 6 Quote
scottcald Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Terrible news. I know he was old and did a ton and lived a rich, full life, but it's still a bummer. Quote
