The Craigslist is less but yeah.

I didn't check all sources.

Same guitar different adds.

I guess if you want the gold finish to not be worn it's an extra $1000-$1600

i have a V from this year too, is there a reason why the tailpiece does not fit flush with the pickguard?

Is the tailpiece small or the pickguard?

thanks

They were all like that then.  The tailpiece/guard didn’t fit flush.

$379 for a 5 lb 11 oz ash tele body shot with clear... that's really heavy and

really high...

Unbranded Telecaster Style One-Piece Ash Body Brush Finished | Reverb

Agreed.  You can order a custom one from Musikraft that’s lighter than that…and better for that price.   I’ve got a bunch of Tele bodies either in the “open project” or completed pile and none of them are over 4lbs.  All but two are Musikraft, and none of them code anywhere near that.

and for another trivia question, anyone know the supplier/part number for the gold v-plate used on the korina vectors?  btw, Dunlop 65 removes the oxidation from gold hardware along with the gold itself.  mine has a heel repair, but still looks pretty good other than the half-gold v-plate lol

Mine has lost some gold too. I was in contact with a firm that could re-plate it with new gold. It would cost between 100 to 250 depending on if the plate also needed new nickel and/or polishing before it is re-plated. Might be easier than finding a replacement.

This one-piece, ash body came in with a matching neck, part of a large collection we purchased.

Effing asset stripper, go back to the '80's please

Usually WD would have stuff like that, but....

"This tailpiece is not an exact fit for original Gibson® guitars"

Would it be so difficult for them to list what the hell it does fit then? Wtf?

Plausible deniability methinks...    It doesn't fit precision guitar Korina Flying V kits

either...     They make excellent throwing weapons  or so I have found...  ;)

Regarding the tailpiece…..I’m not sure what they were doing in 2008 but on the original series I think Steve Ward had the tailpieces and rubber side strip sourced locally.  Dave or Mike please chime in.  Maybe Parallel Machine and a local plating company?    I remember Steve was having difficulty sourcing the material for the side strip.  I believe we ended up using stair tread cut with a die.

I think the Thunderbolt tailpiece was simply brass plate that was machined in the Hamer woodshop.

nice guitar!
