JOE_CPWE Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 (edited) I had a brand spankin' new Duotone in '96 that I had to sell in Nov. 2010 to get Christmas presents for the brood. Now, fourteen November's later, I'm back in the game! Huge price drop on this Duotone on Reverb got me this one, which arrived today. It's in good condition, with a few cosmetic issues, but it is 30 yrs old. Minor disappointment on a finish chip near the nut that wasn't disclosed, or a picture shown. Honestly for the price I'd bought it anyway. I always used my old one with a wound G string. This one came the same way. Is that still common practice or could I put a regular electric set of 10s on it and still get a good acoustic sound? I don't remember if I ever tried electric strings on the old one. Edited December 2, 2024 by JOE_CPWE wound D to G... 13 Quote

burningyen Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Nice grab. I assume you mean a wound G. 1 Quote

Guitar came with a set of GHS White Bronze acoustic 11-48 in the case that I put on last night. Guitar plays easy enough with that gauge. Quote
gorch Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Very nice. Nice to hear you are back in play with it. 1 Quote
