currypowder Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 (edited) I am the original owner of this gorgeous Japanese Korina Explorer. I have said many times that while these are probably not completely on par with a Hamer Korina Standard, they are damn close. The biggest difference is a 2 piece body on the Momose. It has a good size neck (0.90" at the 1st fret, 0.95" at the 12th) and has a nice weight at 8.1 pounds. I played it out once at a low key gig, but otherwise it has been at my smoke-free house. It is in very good to excellent shape. I've helped a couple of members acquire one of these, hopefully they can chime in on their experience. If anyone has been hoping for a Korina Standard to pop up for a good price, this could be a good placeholder. But I predict it would become much more than that. $2,300 shipped Edited January 26 by currypowder 15 Quote
lang Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 My momose strat is an exceptional guitar. Huge fan of Momose stuff (even if they can go a bit overboard for me on some of their tops, sometimes.) This looks amazing. Quote
atomicwash Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 .90" is a great feeling neck. GLWTS! 2 Quote
currypowder Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 After further reflection, I feel I priced this one a little too high. Changed to $2,300 shipped. 3 Quote
mirrorimij Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 FWIW…most USA Korina Standards have a two piece body. I have a one piece body from the original run and there were only 3 or 4 that were one piece. One piece mahogany is typical for Standards and Standard Customs. 5 Quote

Thanks, I did not know that little tidbit. Quote
