Any idea of the output on the Dimmy?  That would be the tell.

Definitely a Bill Lawrence there.  Probably a 500XL. Those come in odd sizes.  The ones I've messed with required a special pickup ring and it's still a bit smaller than the standard humbucker sized ring we're all used to.

And thus ends the extent of all my pickup knowledge, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

The DiMarzio is a "100" ;) , -actually probably a DP100 Super Distortion?    Yeah, measure the resistance with an ohm meter. I have two DiMarzio's that look like that: one is a bit under 8ohms which I believe makes it a PAF.  the other measures 13+, which makes it a Super Distortion.  Should sound great either way.

Doesn't the adjustable hex poles on both coils in that vintage = Super Distortion?

Had a pair of those in my Gretsch Beast BITD.

If it's a 500 it is a lead, from the label, the XL stands for extra lead, so a little less output than XL.  Should sound awesome

That Bill Lawrence unit looks like a L-550XL; essentially a soapbar sized humbucker.

Correct.  PAFs don’t have hex poles.

Dp100 was the DiMarzio super distortion code. Not sure if they used a sticker like that or not. Dp101 was the dualsound code.

What Butcher said makes sense though.

Haha! And I thought I was on to something!

That BL looks like a mini bucker sized 500L. Hopefully it is vintage, as I don’t think Bill reissued these. I am unsure if BL U.S.A. did or not.  I bet it rocks.
