FS - Fender '68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb 35W, $900

This 35 Watt Vibrolux Reverb has been separated to lighten the load. The head is 28 lbs. and the cabinet is 31 lbs. Excellent condition - no issues. The 2x10 has an Eminence Alessandro GA10-SC64 and an Italian Jensen JCH 10/35 installed. The cabinets are from Guitar Cabinets Direct - Excellent quality (¾” solid pine with precision cut ¼” finger joints and the baffle boards and back panel are baltic birch ply). British Roqsolid covers are included - the outside is a flexible, heavy-duty, polypropylene and the inside is felt. Comes with footswitch, power cable, and speaker cable. This is from the "68 Custom" lineup. The Vibrolux was discontinued after the single channel 68 Pro Reverb was released. If you Google the model name, Sweetwater has a nice description.

I KNEW this was yours as soon as I saw it on CL. I have a soft spot in my head for Vibroluxeseses, and that checks a lot of boxes (namely the 'cool' factor).

That's a great idea turning the amp into a head. I have 2 Vibroluxes and have thought about doing that to one of them. Those '68 reissues are pretty solid. GLWTS.

I've got a Rivera era Vibrolux Reverb. I think it's an 82. All tube and P2P. Also a Deluxe Reverb. 1980 I think.

I love it.

Johnny Marr just put a beautiful book out.

The photos and history is amazing. I bought a second to read the 1st. It's a collectors habit. It's autographed and so many pictures and detail shots and huge. Dimensions and weight listed... about 4lbs if I got my Kilos to LBs right.

I’m a huge Johnny Marr fan, and preordered the book within an hour of it being announced.  I was tempted to snag another autographed copy last fall when I took my son to see Marr’s DC stop, but I restrained myself.

Yeah. You can do that to a repro, but I wouldn't want to do it to an original amp that's still in decent shape. Aesthetic value and such you know.

I had a stock mid-70's Vibrolux several years ago, it had heft to it but I didn't find it all that heavy to tote.  With the stock Fender speakers in it, it was actually pretty manageable, IMO.  I had a Rivera-era Fender Concert 1x12 combo at about the same time, now that was a boat anchor!
