1 bottlerocket Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 I'm not familiar with the Fender current line up. Is this one of their reissues? Quote
velorush Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Separating the two is a spectacular idea. 3 Quote

This is from the "68 Custom" lineup. The Vibrolux was discontinued after the single channel 68 Pro Reverb was released. If you Google the model name, Sweetwater has a nice description. 1 Quote

I have a soft spot in my head for Vibroluxeseses, and that checks a lot of boxes (namely the 'cool' factor). Good luck with the sale. If it's still around after the new year, I might have to do something unnecessary....... 2 1 Quote

shankyboy Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 That's a great idea turning the amp into a head. I have 2 Vibroluxes and have thought about doing that to one of them. Those '68 reissues are pretty solid. GLWTS. Quote

geoff_hartwell Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Can you please do that with a Super Reverb and sell me the head lol? Man this is awesome, somebody’s gonna love this! 2 Quote
Ham Rex Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) I've got a Rivera era Vibrolux Reverb. I think it's an 82. All tube and P2P. Also a Deluxe Reverb. 1980 I think. I love it. Johnny Marr just put a beautiful book out. The photos and history is amazing. I bought a second to read the 1st. It's a collectors habit. It's autographed and so many pictures and detail shots and huge. Dimensions and weight listed... about 4lbs if I got my Kilos to LBs right. https://us.officialmusicandmerch.com/collections/johnny-marr/products/marr-s-guitars-hardback-book-signed-jnm Edited December 26, 2024 by Ham Rex 2 Quote

I was tempted to snag another autographed copy last fall when I took my son to see Marr’s DC stop, but I restrained myself. Agree that it is an incredibly well/done work! 1 Quote

atomicwash Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 Excerpt from an Guitar Interactive Magazine review: "Plugging into the Vintage channel you are immediately greeted with fantastic clean, all-Fender tones from a single coil guitar. We tried ours with a Fender Elite Strat and found it produced beautifully chimey cleans with tons of detail and crispness that suit everything from Hendrix style clean rhythm parts, to single note Funk riffs and clean Blues playing with ease. This channel sounds equally great with humbuckers where it is again almost impossible to draw out a bad tone. The Custom channel is definitely more modern sounding, with a suitable shift in the midrange that is much more friendly to pedals than the mid-scooped sound of classic Fender amps. Drive pedals have a much more natural sound here with the bright switch disengaged and you can successfully get some nice overdriven tones with a boost pedal – if your ears/venue can handle the volume!" "There’s very little, if anything to dislike about the ’68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb. It does everything the original got so right and offers some great updates to make this a modern level product. The price is surprisingly affordable for a professional Fender amp too, and with late '60s good looks and a more manageable size and weight than its bigger sibling, this is an amp that should be high on your list if you want classic Fender tones in a professional and portable package." 1 Quote
Hbom Posted February 22 Posted February 22 There's been a mid-70s Vibrolux 4sale locally for a while now. Whenever I slip into delirium and think I could be a rock star if I only had ..., my back says "Sit down boy. Those days are gone." GLWTS Quote

crunchee Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) I had a stock mid-70's Vibrolux several years ago, it had heft to it but I didn't find it all that heavy to tote. With the stock Fender speakers in it, it was actually pretty manageable, IMO. I had a Rivera-era Fender Concert 1x12 combo at about the same time, now that was a boat anchor!
