Hamer Standard USA vintage CASE ONLY 1994 - Black | Reverb A bit optimistic, but only a few Bennys more than I sold my Standard for a few years ago. Ok Great! So that means my Calzone flight case that #0531 was shipped in from Hamer is worth 🤷♂️🤷♂️$,$$$,$$$.$$ 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously though, I Do want to see if it sells and for how much. The other Standard cases I've been watching are only $500 and $750. Unless there's something very different between cases, couldn't someone just buy the case from TKL who made them for Hamer with the logo? When I had Greg at BCR do some work on my standard bass in 2004, I had him order a Hamer case from them and it came in with the Hamer logo. I did notice that the 2010 standard 12 string bass case came in with a slightly different case size and hardware than the 2004 case, but if I didn't need a period correct case I'd go with TKL case. That should cost a lot less. Edited January 18 by HSB0531 1 Quote

Greg had that case in the basement and charged you for a new one. 4 Quote

crunchee Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) Once upon a time, I had two mid-90s USA Hamer Standards (no maple veneer top, just all mahogany), but only one came with a TKL 'USA' case, the other had a 'import' TKL case, both of which were made in Canada. The difference? One had 'USA' in small letters next to the Hamer logo on the lid, the other one just had the Hamer logo on the lid, no 'USA'. Otherwise, the cases were identical in all other respects. I didn't lose sleep over it. Edited January 19 by crunchee 3 Quote

Nope. It was shipped in '81 with Dimarzio Patent Pending X2N's, then Hamer shipped me the model G type when I told them the X2N's were too loud. Then I tried Rio Grande Pitbulls, and full circle back to the original X2N's. At one point, the middle X2N was a red one that I believe was owned by Chris Matthes. Still have that one I think. Quote

Thanks I reached out to the seller as it appears that foam is over the neck rest. It is a black cloth. Maybe just putting new felt over the original neck rest will fix that. The original case that came new with my '97 Cruise V does not have the small "usa" next to Hamer on the case, I imagine Hamer started ordering cases from TKL that would could be paired with either imports or usa sometime in the mid '90s.
