This thing belongs on the wall at a music themed chain restaurant, preferably one that serves meatball hoagies, as that's what it brings to mind😋🤔 1 2 Quote

Ham Rex Posted February 16 Posted February 16 That Sunburst was sweet Crowned and Bound. Seeing the other guitars in the previous auctions go for less money than I expected, I was surprised this one went pretty high. Did someone here buy it? It would only make sense. I would think the Sport-O-Matic will be really high. Quoting Kurtsstuff "It will be mine"! The Ibanez Destroyer $65xx! Whoever got that Fender P bass got a deal! Anyway best of luck. 2 Quote
Ham Rex Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I guess people didn't want the "Sport-O-Matic" as much as the 79 fretboard replaced, rough areas on neck Sunburst. I wonder who Standard is!?! Quote
singlehum Posted February 26 Posted February 26 That Sportomatic was cool. Price didn't seem awful. Anybody here get it? 2 1 Quote

I don't like bidding against other HFCers but I had a limit too and didn't think I'd win. Thank you for not being upset with me. M 1 Quote

The "Sportomatic" was a custom order by Sam Moss for his shop at 1825 W. Burke St. in Winston-Salem, NC. He had several custom orders named after motorcycles. Sam was awesome, but sadly passed away several years ago. Today would actually have been his birthday. 😢 Was that the same red Sportomatic that Serial used to own? If I remember correctly he used to own a red one. 3K for that Sportomatic is like giving it away. 😮 1 Quote

Ham Rex Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) It's really weird out of my whole collection of Hamers, More than 35 less than 55, there only two prime numbers are my 1st two Hamers, a Chaparral elite, black binding, which I ordered, and a Hockey Stick Chaparral standard ordered for the store owners brother, not wanted by him, returned to the store and then dropped. I was young and stupid and took the guitar to CVS. Matched a nail polish and filled in the chips. The two broken OBL legs I repaired by putting washers on both sides. Pink sounds more like a Strat than a Strat does. I kid with my wife the drop knocked the blues into the guitar. I'm going to ID the pickups and Cap and post on Forum next string change. I still have every Hamer I purchased. The 3rd order was an Iredesent 89 Californian elite glue in neck. They added the binding for free. I should have ordered a Hockey Stick. Stacked SC Seymour Duncan and JB. The Hamer rep said it was the 1st of it's kind. I thought he meant glue in neck but I think he meant the whole package. At the time the catalog said they were only available as bolt on necks. Edited March 16 by Ham Rex 3 Quote
