crunchee Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Allegedly, this is 'The Guitar That Killed Folk': Michael Bloomfield’s ’63 Telecaster | Vintage Guitar® magazine Along with the article about the guitar, VG makes it evident that the guitar is up for grabs at RetroFret, if anybody has deep enough pockets: Fender Telecaster Owned and Used by Mike Bloomfield Solid Body Electric Guitar (1963) | RetroFret 1 Quote
RobB Posted January 24 Posted January 24 What sane person would buy that mangled POS? Even Jim Irsay passed on it, and that speaks volumes. 2 1 Quote
hamerican gigolo Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Carter's had his black Strat not long ago. If I had the $, that's what I would want. 😎 2 Quote

It's not like it was used on any famous recordings or anything. Didn't he sharpie some fret markers on the neck as well? Quote
velorush Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Thought I remembered this: Historic? Sure. Reprehensible? Absolutely. The perp's name was John Noose (1:30). Man, just find a lefty or play righty. Stop guitar savagery! Edited January 27 by velorush 3 1 Quote
hamerican gigolo Posted January 27 Posted January 27 It was used on the first Paul Butterfield Blues Band album. I think that would qualify as a " famous recording "... 🙄 4 Quote
Drew816 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Such an opportunity for Fender to release a whole SERIES of Limited Edition, Diamond Level, Super Fantastic Mike Bloomfield Relic series! First top level edition in the $14-18k range limited to only 250 guitars, then the US wide release version and then a MIM/MIK version series! 😉 The guitar certainly has its place in history, the poor thing! 1 2 Quote
