I'm only posting this to post the video that is in that ad too.

Buddy Guy's and Michael Schenker's guitars had a lovechild.

That is one of the Absolutely Coolest Vectors Hamer Ever Made!

I wish I had the spare cash right now.

Yeah, I love that guitar. I just love not spending $4k on a guitar right now a lot more. This one and the Godzilla guitar have been favs since I first saw them though.

New here so clue me in. Who owns this guitar and who owned it when all the modifications were made? I thought modifications reduced resale value.

All that is in the ad. "i had this custom made for me in 1989 when the Hamer company was located in Arlington Heights Illinois - i made a video about this guitar for my Youtube channel check it out my channel is NEDDI STANZ "

Yup...it used to be that way. But Hamer changed that, by going out of business 😉. Now it seems like no matter what you do to them, the value still goes up ( or at least some people think that)

That video tells such a cool story!

Someone mentioned that a member of this forum used to own the guitar. It seems that a member of the forum bought the guitar, had it repainted and then the original owner got it back.

I read that but didn't know if it was legit since there seems to be some tongue-in-cheek references in the OP and the picture of Diablo 175 with it.

I'm all mixed up as I thought @diablo175 had a shell of a guitar refinished as-is. Either I wasn't paying attention (likely) or maybe just didn't pick up what was being put down.

Since that was my understanding, I called BS in the first few minutes of his narrative.  But then, as he laid it out, I became convinced my original assumptions were wrong.

So, cool guitar. I know nothing other than Diablo owned it once and had it up for sale here at some point.

In my opinion, @diablo175 made it cool.  He was the one who had the repaint done and all of that. It's the source of the occasionally running joke with him and waiting for it to show up in the for sale section every time he buys a guitar and tries to like a 24.75" neck again.

And I didn't post this because I thought the guy was fraudulent at all. It was just an absurdly detailed history of that guitar, and if you were on the board when Diablo was restoring it, along with that video, we all know more about that Hamer now than most any Hamer we've owned unless we bought it new, lol.

To my knowledge, the only Hamer with public confirmation of the Tony Montana treatment.

In fairness to Neddi, it was pretty cool to start with (pics below)- all I did was tweak it to my tastes. The finish was pretty knackered, particularly on the neck; which is why I moved forward with it. I decided that if I was gonna refinish it, I might as well rout for a pull up cavity for the Floyd. I also replaced one of the pickups, if memory serves.

Funny side story- sent it to our own @Stike for the refin paint job which he eventually knocked out of the park. I had spec-ed the motif you see on it now but it arrived from Stike in a white and green polka dot design. 😲 Bit of miscommunication in there but all was sorted out and it ended up looking kick ass (as far as my tastes go :P )

I couldn't get away from that one. In his video (that could have been only 5 minutes if he didn't ramble...) he mentioned the custom Sully he had built with a similar paint job, did that one too.

I thought it was just me.  If I start a video and see it's 20 or 30 minutes long, I randomly hit a few points in it to see if I'm going to sit through that.  95% of the time, it's a no.  And if I start a video and the first thing the person in it does is casually take a drink of water, I close it so fast you can practically hear the computer window slam.

Yup, they do.   I took a huge hit because it was modded & refin-ed. I did reach out to him a few days ago and offered a little more than the $ 1700 I got when I sold it back to him. He's firm on getting 3K. I told him if he changes his mind, hit me up.

Honestly, I don't need that guitar. Totally a nostalgia thing. I mean, I still think it looks totally bitchin' but I gave it up because it was hard for me to play being all short scale and 22 frets and shit. :P
