ARM OF HAMER Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) Just wondering if anyone here owned one of these....................past or present. I almost bought one but he wouldn't come down in price and it was a pretty heavy guitar at 10.5. Edited March 16 by ARM OF HAMER Quote
HSB0531 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Well, there originally were the four owners: Paul, Jol, John "Monty" Montgomery, and Jim Beach. It might be the work of Jim, but there was a 5th person that was an employee into the 1980's that might have made that. 1 Quote
Biz Prof Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) Jim was not a Hamer investor (Hamer, Dantzig, Monty, and Walker were the OGs). He was the owner of Wooden Music and was a friendly competitor of Northern Prarie in the pre-Hamer days. He fabricated bodies and necks of Explorer and V style guitars and sold the guys a very small number of husks that became the earliest Monty-built guitars. IIRC, the unbranded Akkerman V and the branded #0000 prototype Standard were built using Beach parts. https://www.oakpark.com/2012/08/14/jim-beach-63-musician-and-craftsman-sailing-and-biking-enthusiast-entrepreneur/ Edited March 16 by Biz Prof 4 1 Quote
