Feynman Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Thanks to Mr. Gale, I am in new territory. I am going to have five guitar pedals. I don't know what to do with myself. I don't plan to leave my house with any of this stuff, but I do have two different practice areas that I'd like to lug between. Imaginary future sessions outside of my house might be included in the recommendation as well. The pedals can just sit on the floor and be perfectly fine, but I'd like it to look nice, with clean cabling and power, right? Looks good, cheap, relocatable... Advice? Thanks, as always, oh wise ones. 1 Quote
BoogieMKIIA Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Depends on how much you want to spend. I did a home made version with left over hardwood floor planks and a half round to get an angle. A Hot Spot wall wart power supply with multi plugs. 3M hook and loop. Great if you aren’t transporting it much. As I got more pedals and started gigging more, got a Dingbat medium with power supply and case. Wasn’t cheap but I don’t regret it a bit. You can also look for used boards. One that holds five pedals shouldn’t cost too much. 5 Quote
RobB Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Good advice above. An excellent solution for 5 pedals is the VoodooLabs Dingbat Small w/power supply and case. I use one with a Peterson tuner, Lovepedal Vibronaut and Boss DD3. There's room for two more pedals. 1 Quote

mathman Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I got this one on a stupid deal of the day. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/live-wire-pb300-club-pedalboard-with-soft-case/l87497000000000?source=3WWRWXGG&utm_medium=paid-search&utm_channel=paid-search&utm_source=google&utm_platform=google&utm_campaign=MF_G_NTM_SEM-DSA_Amps-Effects_Effects&utm_ct=ntm&utm_tactic=prospecting&utm_segment=amp-effect&utm_term=&utm_content=664971538783&gad_source=1 Well made, sturdy and plenty big enough for 5 pedals. 2 Quote
hamerhead Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) NuX Bumblebee: There's about a thousand ways to configure one, and your power supply and 'always on' pedals can sit underneath the top row while still being accessible. I switched from a Pedaltrain Classic II to the NPB-L, kept all the same pedals and had about a 6" narrower footprint. The cross bars can be added, removed, or moved to whatever position you need. Pretty slick, really. ETA Website: https://www.nuxaudio.com/bumblebee.html Edited March 29 by hamerhead 1 Quote

santellavision Posted March 30 Posted March 30 These Guitto Pedalboards are so cool and no more velcro! They have plastic mounts that hold your pedals on. They come in different sizes. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DS4QTCP?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1 3 Quote
Camstone Posted March 30 Posted March 30 I am a big fan /user of this company's work, although the two I have look nothing like their current offerings. But well designed and well built. https://holeyboardpedalboards.com/ Quote
Hackubus Posted March 30 Posted March 30 I picked up one of these recently. https://www.daddario.com/products/accessories/xpnd-pedalboards/ It's great for leaving under my computer/recording station. Allows me to leave my bigger pedaltrain board somewhat wired together and packed away under the bed for the 2.5 gigs per decade I play anymore. 1 Quote
scottcald Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Pedaltrain are good, simple and not a lot. Used they’re pretty inexpensive. 2 Quote

Hbom Posted March 30 Posted March 30 For a house board with 5 pedals you can do pretty well at amazon for under $30. 2 Quote
django49 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Many options....For me, I start with looking at what pedals you want to use, their size and how they will be connected.... That is, are inputs and outputs on the sides or tops? Do you need a power supply or just a "daisy chain" adaptor? How far do you have to space them for cables? Things like the following can reduce your space needs if they are basic right in, left out setups. https://www.amazon.com/OTraki-Coupler-Straight-Connectors-Pedalboard/dp/B07JCJF92D?crid=21CLM4NL78PZM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.65YyXhqtKlsq6so4QA4lX6q4_Vdz0MVmN-GgGNHvwAnTLzwq8sAVLeM4UjwjqLNL_es6dtKH7MGs9fZ4bir4Y7Yaz-aS4zfweO1RP1uUvewiFITsKZ_WKxy1xv8RM3UTKMK2_jli0sNfvk3NCvbpSyHaEDsutgqKMR5RREuCK98T5qIB-91mXZcNR-Dj0-ptTmgN6fhiQbJmCLUhC1wZ10vM2tqbPVYL1bL8Yv42mXpoWb6qzMFelHNdcrXt96Rpz-2ru2n8fnlnithWoq2l-CeS6W2angRxBXbEUmPYDMKcefR33_nVXkV8cb-RkSEKQaM6NkbN3ap74SAnpecvY8IPWmmLclvHCGRbnXneQt5G-YkBJ5YtBM35scY8KbYLFlb1R7BRPJE9GUwjjV-NrXgCBVu_UCWsEYA5XtADzWgiT0eGyP925LRV8bOdLjGJ.SEEB7gikbZyce5WzPsBf1Hoo4CofTPnrkW07UzvAtYk&dib_tag=se&keywords=1%2F4%2Binch%2Bpedal%2Bconnectors&qid=1743354120&sprefix=pedal%2Bconnectors%2Caps%2C210&sr=8-4&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/OTraki-Coupler-Straight-Connectors-Pedalboard/dp/B07HDX42QZ?crid=21CLM4NL78PZM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.65YyXhqtKlsq6so4QA4lX6q4_Vdz0MVmN-GgGNHvwAnTLzwq8sAVLeM4UjwjqLNL_es6dtKH7MGs9fZ4bir4Y7Yaz-aS4zfweO1RP1uUvewiFITsKZ_WKxy1xv8RM3UTKMK2_jli0sNfvk3NCvbpSyHaEDsutgqKMR5RREuCK98T5qIB-91mXZcNR-Dj0-ptTmgN6fhiQbJmCLUhC1wZ10vM2tqbPVYL1bL8Yv42mXpoWb6qzMFelHNdcrXt96Rpz-2ru2n8fnlnithWoq2l-CeS6W2angRxBXbEUmPYDMKcefR33_nVXkV8cb-RkSEKQaM6NkbN3ap74SAnpecvY8IPWmmLclvHCGRbnXneQt5G-YkBJ5YtBM35scY8KbYLFlb1R7BRPJE9GUwjjV-NrXgCBVu_UCWsEYA5XtADzWgiT0eGyP925LRV8bOdLjGJ.SEEB7gikbZyce5WzPsBf1Hoo4CofTPnrkW07UzvAtYk&dib_tag=se&keywords=1%2F4%2Binch%2Bpedal%2Bconnectors&qid=1743354120&sprefix=pedal%2Bconnectors%2Caps%2C210&sr=8-4&th=1 1 Quote

Feynman Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 Thanks, all. It's nice to see the 'nice' options, but I don't actually need anything. I see a couple on local offerup that will probably do the trick, but if not, one of the many MUYOOPR or FJJSGUP on Amazon will suffice. Quote

Someone used his D’addario/Camel Cash on one so it was brand new in box for a great price. And he only lived ten minutes away. Seems nicer than what I need but it looks good and cost me about the same as the Amazon cheapies. Thanks again for all of the replies. I'm all set. Edited March 31 by Feynman 2 Quote

They work fine, but if the input jacks on the pedals don't line up quite right, you can break the input on the pedal when you step on the switch. I use them on my desktop board that I hit the switch with my hand but went back to 6" patch cords for anything on the floor that I might get overly aggressive on. YMMV 1 Quote
