MCChris Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Conrad kicks ass. That's a helluva commute.AND he brought beer. And not just any beer. The corked stuff that Poe fancies."Kicks ass" is an understatement.
hikarateboy Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 FYI, I merged this and the photos thread so people would only need to look in one thread to see it all.
shredmeister Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Keep 'em coming. I enjoyed listening to all the different music - it was all good.Man I could have partied on like that for days!!!What a blast.More pics please...
Eric Weston Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 OUTSTANDING- great job on the vid & the pics, I almost feel like I was there.....oh wait
gfc55 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Ok Guys, I've procrastinated enough, and even though I'm still sleep-deprived from the weekend and from attending the Rolling Stones concert last night (WooHoo!!!), here are some of my pictures. Bruce and Pam enjoy the gathering with the early arrivals on Friday. Bruce, Carmie, Toni, Pam, and Al play during the Friday pre-party jam. Toni did a fantastic job holding down the drum chair on Friday and for several tunes on Saturday. Joe shows some exuberance before the party starts Ted brought the youngest Hamer Fan in-training to help out with the video duties. Part 2 Al (Butcher) during a particularly serious moment... Eric strikes a dramatic pose Robbie and Ted perform early in the evening. Robbie and Dave play one of Dave's original tunes. Syd and Pam crank out some tunes. Our long-distance traveler award winner Conrad enjoys a cold beverage. This last image pretty well sums up the evening as Bruce tok time for a little dancing. I had a great time and really look forward to the next gathering whenever it may be!
earachemyeye Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Cool vid. Great memories. Here's to you all (glass raised).Joe
BruceM Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Thanks for the pics, George. Here's a few more... elduave does some Jive Talkin' with Sid and the Play Prettys. If I recall correctly, this was some sort of psychadelic jam thingy. Sorry for being unaware when I wasn't onstage, but I did some major schmoozing with EVERYONE that showed up. You gotta give the fans 110%. What a poser. Dan & Gene kick it. Butcher makes a long overdue appearance. Butcher and Rick (duncans) tear up some blues.
jettster Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Thanks for the video Ted, looks like you guys had a blast!! What a great way to celebrate 50.
cmatthes Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Freakin' GREAT! Keep 'em coming.Wish I had made that one more than ever.
hikarateboy Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Ted brought the youngest Hamer Fan in-training to help out with the video duties. Hey George thanks for the memories as Monday night I took Charlie to get a hair cut and he got this, I kid you not. Same kid 2 days later.
gfc55 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Freakin' GREAT! Keep 'em coming. Wish I had made that one more than ever. OK, here's a few more! This is Pam and Al on Friday. Ted singing his heart out for us. Another cool shot with Robbie and Eric.
serial Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Oh God I gotta get to one of these. So many of my favorite people in one room with a bunch of awesome gits!?!
Eric Weston Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Ted singing his heart out for us. Ted rocks....it was an honor and a pleasure to share the stage with him and everybody else. On another note- he and I were hanging out at a table, watching & listening & soaking up the cool vibe when he turned to me and humbly remarked "This is one of the best things that I've ever done" (the HFC). We looked around the room and saw all these people (who never would have met) laughing and hugging and making music, celebrating a BIRTHDAY and then I was humbled and I felt really lucky to be a part of it....

Thanks Eric your half a twenty is in the mail. Just so there is no mistake, Without Andrew Large and all the rest of you the HFC would be nothing. The people here are what make the HFC so awesome and I can take no credit for that. As I've said many times it just seems that Great People play Great Guitars. If you havent been to a jam yet I highly suggest you get to one. I wasnt much of a Jammer before since there are plenty who can play circles around me but every time I go to one there is nothing but an overwhelming feeling of support and love for what we are doing thats just so comfortable. Trust me playing with someone like Eric is a great way to improve quickly. Playing with better players pushes you to another level and they usually have no ego and are quick with support and friendship. mushy enough for you? sorry.
pesocaster Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Damn.......... I really wanted to go to this.... Looks like everyone had a great time... Too Cool!!
BTMN Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I cant say thanks enough for everyone that came up and supported this livingroom noodler. Allowing me to bring two friends along no one had ever met was outstanding. You Minneapolis guys will see more of Mark the tall guy in several of BruceM's Friday night pics unidentified. Great guy and VERY cool artist who likes to use a guitar as a paintbrush in a song. Lil here a chord, there a jangle or two behind the lead, you get the idea. Now that he is a Hamer owner he wants to know when the next one is? Thanks Eric for sharing a feeling that was alive in that room.
Jorge Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 If you havent been to a jam yet I highly suggest you get to one. I WILL, d@mn it!!!! Don't know how, but if Belgian could, I'll do it too, LOL!!!What a great time it seems, congrats!!!!
BruceM Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I WILL, d@mn it!!!! Don't know how, but if Belgian could, I'll do it too, LOL!!! What a great time it seems, congrats!!!! Jorge, you let me know when you'll be in town, and trust me, you'll get the full 4-3-2-1 Club Red Carpet treatment. As my frequent houseguests will attest, there's really not much I like better than entertaining houseguests in grand style. Here's a few more photos of the grand finale at last week's party. Has a week really gone by? We closed out the jam with two songs which have become 4-3-2-1 Club staples: I Hate My Job and Apologize. Both these songs were written by my good buddy Dave Freden, and my one true regret about this party is that Dave was too ill to make the trip from IL. I know he would have been beaming to see the raucous love with which his songs are treated at these jams. They truly brought the house down and closed this party in grand style. It was especially fun to play these with elduave and MC Chris on guitar, as I don't believe these two have ever played these songs before, and they tore into them with the ferocity that they require. Great fun! Conrad makes his first appearance onstage as part of the IHMJ backup choir. I'm tellin' you, this guys a natural at understanding lighting and camera angles! Check out the object of adulation at the far end of the stage...MC Chris is throwin' it down!
BruceM Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Here's one final photo: Joe manicly thumbs the stompbox and tries to keep up with elduave. This is a great photo of the frankenstrap. After the party it took eld 20 minutes to reassemble the 2 straps used to create this monstrosity. I'm sure that next time he'll bring his own strap! Edited to add: Does anyone have photos of the Famous Volcanoes set? Of all the photos I've got, I have none of FV.
robbie Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Hey Bruce, Gene has some photos of FV earlier in this post... Great shots, great time, great people!!!! Thanks!!
