That's not a Hamer "model", just a custom order of a stock model with somebody's name on the headstock. Very cool guitar no matter what.

I do not see a USA in the logo.

That gold color for the logo is something I have never seen before, either. That signature would either have to be handwritten or made a decal made from a signature like the Steve Stevens models. I am wondering if someone had a water slide decal made for a replacement neck.

That is a one piece neck rather than a three piece. Did Hamer do one piece necks on any bolt-ons?

The guitar looks like a Vintage S. Hamer did one-piece and 2-piece necks on plenty of their bolt-on models (T62, T51, Diablos, Vintage S and probably more I'm forgetting), so that's not unusual. I don't see the USA logo, but I'm sure it's there (I think I can kind of see something that's probably the logo in one of the pics). It's definitely a USA Hamer.

My '95 Studio has a gold color logo to match the factory gold hardware.

There was a guitar player for Cyndi Lauper at one time named Bob Davis who had at least one tricked out Jackson Soloist, and its HSS was switched with three mini switches. Considering this has the same name and the same three minis (odd for a Hamer bolt-on), maybe it was his?

As long as it isn't the Jimmie Davis model.

I still think the "JD" stood for Jack Daniels.

Hello there,

I've been a member on here for a little while, but it's the first time I've posted....

There's a supposedly custom shop Hamer Vintage S on Ebay at the moment which looks kosher enough to me apart from the lack of the "USA" segment of the logo. Is this normal or could this guitar be not all it says it is?

Here's a link to the auction:

I'd be grateful for anyones help/comments on this - thanks.

It's possible that the "USA" didn't show up.

And, for the umptininth million time...there is no Hamer Custom Shop!

Hey I grew up with a guy named Bob Davis. He played guitar, too. :D (Yes, probably one of a meellion or so.)

I don't want to throw water on that one or anything, but somebody "in the know" at Hamer told me several years ago that a certain gentleman named Ed, uh, let's just call him "Ed Bloman" made fake Hamers while at East Coast Music Mall in CT in the early/mid-90s. I have seen one dubious one that did not have a serial number but did have a "USA" after the logo.

Buyer beware, but I'd get verification from Hamer before I'd bid on that one.

And if you look at some of the "Bloman" B.C. Rich guitars he was selling they all had AMAZING quilt maple bodies/wings and either Green or Blue finishes-all of which if you know BC rich back in the 70's and 80's didn't do.

hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

....And then there's the Ibanez Jem's with non-factory colors in the swirl paint jobs........

This one's in Hamer's books. #024905 "Bob Davis, Custom, Blue, GH, N.O., 5-24 Eng"

"GH" is gold hardware. Made right after Nancy Wilson's Watson and right before Tommy Shaw's 6/12 doubleneck and 5 before Tom Petersson's FB4 that another HFC member owns. A good week of Hamers!

How's THAT for verification? :D

Wasn't Ed Bloman the sausage king of Chicago?
