Gabe Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I just bought the Cowtown/Ebay Sunburst from the seller. Got it for the Cowtown price he paid for it. Should have it next week. That one looks a lot like the one I sold to Dirk (and still regret selling). Nice guitar! Thanks for your kind words, Dirk. If you ever want to sell, please contact me first, I may even pay more for it! Gabe

dirk Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 In my opinion it's a myth that we have all the old Hamers here in europe. I think here are maybe six or seven people with a decent collection of them. Please remember that it is pretty expensive to get a guitar to germany for example. If i buy a Hamer for 1000 USD i will have to pay approx. at least 120 USD for shipping, 200 USD for taxes and the paypal fees. The total price is 1350 USD. It's no bargain anymore. There are quite a few of the older Hamers in Germany already. Germany was one of Hamer's largest markets. In no small part, as I understand it, to Peter Wolf, who is now with PRS.Do you know how much were shipped to europe between 1977 and 1981?

petemfa51 Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I don't know how many are out there but I can tell you this FOR SURE!! BUY as many of these early Sunbursts that you can. I bought Serial's 79 a while back and STILL can't find a guitar at ANY price that sounds better. These things are WAY, WAY under valued. I mean come on, Hamer made the best Gibson's in the world in those days. They are INCREDIBLE GUITARS! $1100 for an original 79 Sunburst???? Some day we'll all be sick reading about THESE days.
