Craig S Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 For acoustic, it's almost always "If Only You Were Lonely" which is an old b-side by The Replacements (although it was really just Paul on acoustic guitar). Great lyrics with cowboy chords in the verses and a jazzy little progression in the chorus.Gotta' respect that... Played a bunch of Mat's songs over the years.

HamerHokie Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I'd do something memorable.Acoustic - the music from the "Eastern Motors" car spots (if you live around Balt-DC you know this ditty)Electric - Miserlou. You can do that on acoustic too.
Turdus Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I'd do something memorable. Acoustic - the music from the "Eastern Motors" car spots (if you live around Balt-DC you know this ditty) And for those of you that don't know it, this is what Hokie would perform:
savethematches Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Electric---an assortment of memorable 80's riffs, as aforementioned, such as You Shook Me, Talk Dirty To Me, Still of the Night, etc.Acoustic--Love Song by Tesla

Guest Mike Lee Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Assuming someone hands me a left handed guitar...Acoustic - My first thought was Pinball Wizard, but I'd probably play Wonderwall by OasisElectric - Manic Depression
BruceM Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I Hate My Job - Dave Freden's Lesser Humans - this one works as a solo acoustic, electric jam, or country stomp. It's a singalong, and it's a staple at every jam I've ever played in the last 10 years...easily taught, easily learned.
paults Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Assuming someone hands me a left handed guitar...Mike- just take five minutes to learn a few chords backswards, and play that righty upside down : )Since I keep hearing it on some TV commercial, my first instinct would be to play "Sunshine", by Jonathan Edwards. Otherwise, I would just ask them, and see how far I could get with whatever they wanted to hear. Instant Requests are fun!
darc Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 If I'm thinking straight, I'll hand it back. Besides, shouldn't there be a beer in my hand?
Jem Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 "Too drunk to fuck" - Dead Kennedy'sBy the way, what's an 'Acoustic' ?Jemmie
