Me, I bought my dream guitar in 2007...

In my mind I made up a combination of custom options for a Studio Custom,

got my finances in order and then contacted Hamer, via a dealer I knew.

My wishlist got a YES and so I waited from the end of January 'til mid June.

I received a fantastic instrument. It's not only stunningly beautiful - it plays

and sounds like a dream. I can't think of a better guitar for me! It's a true

keeper and is my No. 1 guitar of course.

Looks like an ordinary Studio Custom... but it has some (important) subtle custom options:

- Premium Quilt, Ebony board, Tummy bevel, Weight limit 8 lbs, Neck pu SD Jazz !

Definately the '78 Sunburst in my signature pic!

Pirateflynn,

The picture of your Sunburst up against the Blockhead reminds me of the old "modern vintage"ads from the early 90's. Great picture.

My first custom order was placed in January and arrived in July 2007. I had wanted a maple-topped Newport Pro since selling my spruce-top. When I saw the 2007 catalog, I was done for. The cover guitar was a quilt-topped NP Pro in a new color, "Tortoise". This is almost the exact guitar but there are no bound f-holes and no Bigsby. Custom features are the color, quilt top, multi-ply body, neck and headstock binding, MOP Hamer inlay, gold hardware, and smaller neck carve. Final results:

You've seen it already recently, but if you want more, just click my signature listing.

I didn't think I cared for the tobacco burst finish, but after spending some time with this thing, it's the best electric I've had, and I now think it's beautiful.

I have totally lost my guitar GAS, so amp GAS it is....

My Only Hamer I bought this year. Actually, my second-my first was an '80's Standard with a repaired (badly) headstock break that I loaned a friend $50 for with the guitar as collateral. I gave him back the guitar when he paid me $25. He still owes me the other $25. :P

Oh, well, can't add my pic as an attachment. It's a '96 I think Studio with a wraparound in natural flame.

My brand new Newport Pro BE with a Flame top. I was the one complaining about the 2 piece back a few weeks ago. Well I talked to Jol and he said the Pro BE's are maple backs. That maple backs are always two piece on Newport because of how wide they are. I found out before I received it. You can tell its maple in five seconds in person. I would have kept it anyway. Its an AMAZING guitar. I love it, I hope to never part with it.

It has to be this ...

To help pay for it, I had to unload my Studio Custom (liked it. didn't love it) and my Duo Tone (loved it. hurt to part with it.) So all I've got left is the Centaura...for now. Would I do it again? Well...you know the answer to that. :P

'04 Artist Custom--in mint condition. I waited for almost nine months until the store lowered the price to a trigger-pulling level (for me). Had to move a couple others to pay for it but....well, you can see why I did what I did...

What finish is that?! Beautiful!

I got this one from Greg. Beside the fact that Greg is one of the nicest guys to deal with this Hamer is in sick clean condition and a real beauty.

It has a very distinctive sound and is compared to my other sunbursts pretty lightweight.

S/N is 8 0574.

Another one i bought this year from John (peedenmark7).

Beat to hell but has the best neck i ever played. It came with non original pickups. I managed to get an original DiMarzio/Hamer bridge pickup from 1978 (Thanks again Greg!).

The Seymour Duncan in the neck position sounds amazing.

S/N is 8 0292.

OK, these are my only Hamers, both purchased this year. I avoided Hamers for years...I always thought of them as cork sniffer fare...man, I was wrong!
