Ranger Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 Wow, thanks everyone for your responses! I'll have to make a long list and then prioritize. If you haven't seen the Los Lonley Boys Austin show I mentioned, they do a crowd pleaser for sure when two play for a bit with one hand only. They toss the guitar and bass up and down with their left hands for a while, catching the necks and hitting the notes at the same time. Seems they don't miss a single note. Most amazing to me, never saw that before anywhere. Also, in the Sheryl Crow C'mon show, it looks to me like guitarist Peter Stroud uses a Hamer in a couple songs. Can you confirm??Thanks again everyone.

RobB Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Rainbow: Live in Munich 1977. Really good! Blackmore's playing is snotty/brilliant, as usual. Cozy Powell, too.AC/DC: Plug Me In (Deluxe Edition). A lot of rare footage, I just wish the editors would have sequenced the discs a bit more logically. Japan footage from the 'BIB' tour is crushing...

alantigold Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Damn - I forgot the LLB DVD. They smoke on that one. The one-handed bit is great. Also, about Quadrophenia - while that show is good, I think I prefer a couple others to that one. It's been a while since I saw the Tommy show and Isle of Wight, but they were both pretty good. And I like Pete's solo show in support of Psychoderelict.Alan
Matt Mattson Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 "Concert For George" Clapton -- a bunch of others (2 or 3 hrs). Forgot that one."You See Me Laughin" -- another good one that helped me a lot (playing).
MTM105 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 nobody ever likes Skynyrd. It's not like they went Disco prior to the plane crash.http://www.amazon.com/History-Rock-Roll-Gu...8980&sr=8-4History of Rock 'n' Roll: Guitar Heroes & The '70s (Have a Nice Decade). It's a little dated now, 1995. DLR says, "It was a Great time to be Alive!" And you find yourself nodding in agreement. Poignant short interviews with clippings. It's basically a History Channel kind of thing of the Rock-n'-Roll era of guitar, from Chuck Berry to SRV, BB King, Muddy Waters, Page.A must have for any guitarist with a pulse. Worth every penny. Basically captures EVH, Townshend and the rest before they all started looking like old men.....SRV, Hendrix, Chuck Berry footage, Santana, classic, classic stuff.this video(s) will give you goosebumps, guaranteed. Every-so-often I return to it mesmerized.
