Yeah, the crown inlays just don't look right to me on that guitar. The bound fretboard, though, now that is killer. Good luck with the sale/exchange.

are you mad, man? The crowns look AWESOME.

Well, not really. I have been expecting something else for the last 5 months. So it was a bit a of bad life moment to open the case and not have what I was expecting. At first I wrote it off as a cool thing, as it might be the first and only Crown inlayed Talladega, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought I shouldn't be paying 2800 dollars for something that wasn't exactly the way I ordered it. This is my employee price. I don't feel bad selling this guitar at all on here. This is an amazing price for a new tally. Let alone a custom one off. Its not cost, they mark it up for employees. Its still a FAR better deal than what anyone would pay for this particular guitar. Its an awesome playing and sounding guitar, and it may be vane to send it back for inlays. Its just SOOO much money for it to not be spot on. I hardly expect it to sell here in a day or two. I just thought I could cut the time down, and if I sold it and ordered a new one, it would save frank and that small hamer crew alot of work. I dont know what they would do with this guitar. Keep it, loan it to artists, sell it to another dealer. I have no idea. They wont have to deal with any of that if it sells. I can just place a new PO for the correct guitar.

I agree that you order something, that's what you should expect. Shouldn't be a problem to sell it though, especially since you can't get crowns any more!

Well I understand your dilemma and of course everyones taste is different. However I think you should sleep on it. look at all the "positve crown" comments you've gotten in a very short period of time.

Benefits of keeping guitar as is

A. don't have to send it back and can play it NOW

B. A true collectors item and should be worth more in the future should you decide to sell it.

C. victory inlays SUCK (if I may say that)

Personally I think you opened the case and thought "Damn, thats not what I ordered" after waiting for 5 months it kinda freaked you out, you felt cheated ... ripped off. !!! I would feel the same way.

However, crowns simply look better. Come over to the crown side Luke!

I slept on it one night already. I was a fan of crown inlays myself. In fact when I got my first quote for the guitar I got it quoted with crowns (I am thinking now that might be where this stems from) I was told, first it could be done, then I was told to call frank, where I was told that Hamer would never offer crowns on talladegas...I dont know why, they wouldnt elaborate, so I opted for the 10 Victory. I have 4 other hamers all with 10 victory, and I really like the idea of a continuing theme throughout my guitars. I in no way think crown inlays suck. I think I am going to decide what to do tomorrow. You never know how anyone is going to react to a problem. I may be told that I can't get a new one. My store does not STOCK hamers, though we are a dealer. I was told when I ordered it that I had to pay in full up front and that returns were NOT an option. So I only have a few options. Hamer is totally cool about it and fixes the problem without issue. I sell the guitar and order the guitar I wanted to start, and finally I could keep the guitar. Keeping the guitar is VERY far down on my list on my list right now. I am hoping tomorrow goes awesome and frank is totally amazing like usual. You just never can be sure. If tomorrow goes poorly you can expect this to be on here and ebay until it sells.

Now that is fucking cool!

Absolutely. Between the crowns and the neck binding, that one looks right to me.

It's your guitar brother! I was just looking after your best interests. It's really none of my business. Hope tomorrow goes great for you and everything works out for the best. Good luck!

Well, I just talked to Frank, and its all gonna be good. So it is no longer for sale. Thanks for the interest. I will leave the photos up for anyone that wants to see. I dont know what they are gonna do with this guitar. Thats one of the reasons I was going to keep it initially. I would assume that they will either sell it to another dealer, or keep it for employee's or something. Thanks guys.

seeing as how crowns are no longer available , I would personally be thanking them for the mistake
