Steve Haynie Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 how about a who's who of famous players from New Orleans: it might actually help the efforts to rebuild. That is a good idea, but the timing would be wrong. Americans have short memories of news and fashion. The effectiveness might not be there leaving a lot of viewers wondering who all the performers are. How about Paul McCartney again? With Prince as his special guest!
Punkavenger Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 if Van Halen (with DLR of course) could pull it off that would be awesome.Pretenders could work ... and be awesome too

Right , like they couldn't sacrifice the cinematic masterpieces showing Tom Brady as a lost member of The Brady Bunch replete with fake actor interviews.
tonyvieira Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 The Brian Setzer OrchestraI would think most demographics would enjoy
Feynman Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 The Brian Setzer OrchestraI would think most demographics would enjoyThis is brilliant! Agreed.Who do we call?
tomteriffic Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Small aside:Yo, Willie. Good piece but you need to pull fewer punches. Simple fact is that there are two original Eagles left and it's the Don and Glen show these days and has been for a couple of decades. Members have been fired for political differences, just disappeared etc.The Eagles eat their young. Fukk 'mBrian Setzer Orchestra could project into a stadium, I think.
Mitch Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 If the game was in Florida, I'd have Ozzy do "Crazy Train", followed by Motley doing "Kickstart", then both on stage to do "Paranoid".I'd then have them whisked away to a nearby launchpad, and at the end of the 3rd quarter, broadcast the blast-off of the final Shuttle mission, sending both bands (and Sharon) on a one-way trip into deep space.
Willie G. Moseley Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I actually had "the Don and Glenn show" and details about such in the text, but had to excise that portion due to space limitations. Ditto Kiss being the Gene and Paul show, and such citations will be in expanded versions of newspaper commentaries (I'm limited to 650 words, max)
