kizanski Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Great photos, Butch. Any of them worthy of postcards.

butcher Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 A 48' 18-wheeler went up this 16' wide, 3 mile long switchback gravel road before me. I was sure I would find him stuck, but I'll be damned if he didn't make it. I never caught up to him. (I was stopping to take pics). Helluva truckdriver. By the way, thanks for the compliment Kiz.

butcher Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Canyonlands, Utah: Goosenecks state park, Utah: Natural Bridges, Utah: Where I dumped my bike in the gravel: (Worth it to get the picture). I've just arrived at BruceM's 4321 club, and he has offered me a place to stay a day or two. Thanks so much Bruce. I need the rest. More pics later.
bubs_42 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Awsome, we need a good upbeat thread around here. Looks like an awsome trip !
tobereeno Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I've done the cross country thing, seen a lot of those places, but I REALLY REALLY need to do it on a bike - cars are just too insulating from the world. I'd pack up my bike and ride and tour, but in this country, I'd be done in two days.If you've never done it, one way or another, you've GOT to see all of our country. You could be born, live, and die without ever leaving US soil, but if you've hit all 48 States, you've seen enough. For me, I still need to hit Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, and the US Virgin Islands.
Eric Weston Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Great pics Al!!!! I haven't been out west in almost 10 yrs....gotta change that in the next couple of years!

butcher Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Monument Valley: Mexican Hat Rock: Just outside Bryce canyon: The town of Butte, Utah. Can you imagine living in the midst of all this? Standing in five states at once:
