BadgerDave Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 The green collection. Fairly rare translucent green and metallic green 90's Specials and the one I wish I still had - an '82 trans green that I actually bought for $350.00. In 1999.

Punkavenger Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 not exactly early but since there are some other FM's in here I couldnt resist
bubs_42 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 That's the best picture ever of that guitar.. SWEET !
MTM105 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I read that the early specials have that 59 LP cut in the neck, which has given the guitar such great appeal over the years.save yourself $250,000. Just spend $500-$1000 for it.
Toejam Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I've got a black one now to keep my aztec gold company. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/Toej...pg?t=1237787886
BigWhiteB12a Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I've owned this one since '80 or '81. It did a long tour of duty with my cousin in a hardcore punk band in the mid '80s...
custom53 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 1981 Bought it new from Coyles Music just north of OSU campus.
cornjulio Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 1981 Bought it new from Coyles Music just north of OSU campus. Man, these are some beautiful pics. Never saw a hamer case with purple inside. I suppose it came with the guitar? C.
silentman Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 The case is probably a BCR checkerboard interior as seen in the other photos. Not original.
DEMENTED Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Here is my old '80 that I had purchased from a pro player. Gone now to a fella in Joisey.
velorush Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Glad this thread got resurrected. I had no toy to post last run through. My much-posted player-condition '80, the day I got the BCR case: Since the photo I have put the pickups back in the way I received it (zebra to bridge) as it seems to sound better that way. It remains one of the best sounding solid body guitars I have ever played. If it had a bigger neck and a rounder 10" or 12" fretboard radius I'd probably sell every other guitar I own. If anyone has another pair of these Hamer/DiMarzios at a reasonable price, PM me - they might fix a Gibson problem I have... Edited to correct the photo link.
JohnnyThunders Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Here are 3 of my 5. These 3 are not for sale. I will be posting the other two for sale soon as I get around to taking pics.
Russ Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Well, it's not "early", but, it is 15 years old...(and she ain't goin nowhere either)
dboy66 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 A more modern classic! Photo and guitar courtesy of BCRGreg, in case that wasn't obvious OMFG, that is unbelievably hot! Absolutely stunning guitar! I would love to hear the story behind the genesis of that beauty.

bubs_42 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Which is the best bridge?? Sustain Block?IMHO Yes the Sustainblock is kickass.
straightblues Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Here is mine. Before everyone gets upset, I bought this one with a poorly repaird broken headstock and it was pretty beat before I started modifying it. I has pickups from a 50's Kay Thin Twin and a Harmony Stratotone. It sounds really like a 50's guitar but I get the modern Hamer playability. It is an 80's guitar I believe. It has an ink serial number.
