robbie Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Also, in the spirit of the board you should have a 'for sale' room and an 'off-topic' room for Obama discussions. I will be in the OC room singing Woody Guthrie songs, just me and my guitar.
shredmeister Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Hey Ray how many tracks on your recorder - I have the Akai DSP16 with 8 simultaneous inputs and 16 tracks if you need it.I have a song we did last year (but I finally learned it correclty hehe) TOO HOT TO HANDLEAlso I think I am going to learn MOTHER by Danzig - I know Eric knows that one.And dudes I would be very careful about putting political topics on this board or anything that has the potential for conflict - there are plenty of other forums for that. You could wind up with good people not liking one another.
BTMN Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I would like to sing THTH again. Godzilla anyone? Stranglehold? How about Hellion/Electric Eye by Judas Priest?
Bloozguy Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Hey Ray how many tracks on your recorder - I have the Akai DSP16 with 8 simultaneous inputs and 16 tracks if you need it. I was thinking using a stereo pair of small diaphragm condenser microphones into my tube preamp then into a Zoom H4. Nothing fancy, but it should capture the evening fairly well...and it's a "set it and forget it" kind of setup.
blackfbiv Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Well, I am seriously considering flying down for this one... it sounds like a killer time. I'm not a big jam guy, but the opportunity to meet a bunch of you is pretty darn enticing... And if you're doing The Hellion/Electric Eye... Wouldn't bring THE FB though... Depends on work mostly... hmmm Edited to add: Are there any Canadians considering heading down at all? Maybe a couple of homegrown tunes would be in order...
shredmeister Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Stranglehold - did that one with Elduave last year. That's always a fun tune as long as it does not get played too many times in one night.I think it was done 2 other times that night.Me bring big Evil Amp this year. hehe
BTMN Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Stranglehold got played twice that night. My friend Tim and I had planned ahead to play it and decided when Elduave whipped his Ted Nugent out we still had to play it. Hadn't jam with my friend Tim in 22 years until that night. He would love to play THTH with us and was gonna attend with me. BlackFBVI should we, Tim and I, take that as a yes you will be on Bass for H/EE? I'm getting to sing Hellion?Electric Eye, Peace Sells, Hell Bent For Leather, and Gimme Three Steps this Friday at the Dean Open House jam. Should be real interesting night for sure. Looking forward to my mini vacation in about 7 weeks to good old MSP!!!! Maybe do Only You Can Rock Me instead of THTH.
sirDaniel Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 need to be thinking outside the box. Needa song that will live forever.....like WILD THING; seismic and live in Chicago.
JohnnyThunders Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 need to be thinking outside the box. Needa song that will live forever.....like WILD THING; seismic and live in Chicago.Yeah who has a pic of the wall of amps! WILD THING you make my ears bleed!
shredmeister Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I have seen a couple of the G3 tours and they always have good songs to jam to.One of them is Little Wing - I use to know it but forgot how to play the intro. But if anybody wants to do that one it is a quick learn and a great jam.
blackfbiv Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 BlackFBVI should we, Tim and I, take that as a yes you will be on Bass for H/EE? I guess I better get to leaning on someone here to trade weekends with me... Ah screw 'em I'm gonna book a flight today. If you wanna do any other Priest as well as H/EE let me know, we did a lot of it back in the day. Is there a particular hotel I need to track down and book myself into?

You shouldn't need to rent a car when you're here. There will be a reception on Friday night at the 4-3-2-1 Club. I'm certain a jam will break out.Eric Weston, is your band playing on Friday night? If so, where? We may have to stop out for some Unhinged action.Yes !!
zorrow Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Air Canada is flying Montreal - Minneapolis and back almost every hour. The current price for the roundtrip is 336 CND. I think am in! Edited to add: I'm now checking for better fares, but man... I want to go so hard!
Eric Weston Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Eric Weston, is your band playing on Friday night? If so, where? We may have to stop out for some Unhinged action. Edited to add that I typed this in a hurry while cooking dinner, and I'm certain that you guys that will be here will have a stellar time. No doubt!!!
belgian Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 And yes, I was hoping for Euro-jam 2009, but it's looking like Conrad and I jamming on a few cool new Belgian guitars and beers. Bernard will be around, and maybe I can try to organise a day in Brussels for the Euro crowd. Between March 30th and April 2th....

BruceM Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Hey guys,Let's get a couple of practice dates settled at the 4-3-2-1 Club before this show. I'm thinking:Friday or Saturday, March 21 or March 22, and perhaps Friday, April 10. Anyone available on these dates? It's time to round up the drummers!
