moparmagic Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 hi. today i bought another hamer from the same pawn shop as in my last post. this one looks like its a sunburst it has 2 coils and 1 hum. 24 frets with dots. a togel one tone and one volume knob. and a 5 way selector. the serial # is 1550744 and it looks like pretty good quality. wat is it and is it worth the 180 bucks i spent on it?

Rhys Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 From your brief description of the pick-ups/control layout & serial number I'd take a guess that the guitar is a 1991 Centaura.
mirrorimij Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 From your brief description of the pick-ups/control layout & serial number I'd take a guess that the guitar is a 1991 Centaura. Not with that serial number. Must be an import.

cmatthes Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Import - Stellar. Nicer quality bridge though (2 pt Wilkinson trem).
jujisque Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 love those toe shots ... I would say it was worth that. Does it play well and sound good? yes? then yes.
moparmagic Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 yea it sounds great after i replaced the strings. i shined up pritty good 2. ive always wanted a hamer and it gives a nice " judas priest sound" that i like

Not with that serial number. Must be an import. I thought the serial number was a bit long..... Having re-read the initial description of the guitar I also see that "Sunburst" is given as the style, not the finish. Hey-ho. That's what I get for trying to answer questions after a bottle of wine...........
Fizzyx Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 was the guitar worth 180 bucks?Hi all,First post.Moparmagic, I bought the exact same model for $180 with a Korg tuner and a gig bag so price sounds reasonable...Been a good learners guitar although with the floating bridge it goes out of tune quickly if you haul on the trem a lot.
