So if we could do another HFC Guitar what would it be.

The Thunderbolt would be great, but that would also never happen (I'm pretty certain about that!).

The "original" was built by Chris Lukasic in the early '90s, along with a midwest Guitar dealer, Dave Kenney (I custom-ordered my '91 Standard that Bubs42 now owns from Dave). It was made from old Korina wood and original '50s Gibson parts, and was an April Fool's Day prank in a UK Guitar Magazine. Rick borrowed it and had it out on tour, and supposedly broke the headstock and sent it to Hamer for a repair. Hamer made their own accurate version of that one in 1995. Rick ended up recording and touring with the Hamer, and it was in regular rotation for quite some time, and still shows up on the road.

An HFC'er owns the original Lukasic Tbolt, and there may even be a few others floating around. The Gibson copies don't quite get the shape right and were priced out of the stratosphere, but there are at least two of them, as Serial mentioned. Hiroshi Kid made a small run of Korina Tbolts in '96, but I haven't seen any of those for sale outside of the Jpns market. Fernandes made Rick's other Korina one, but that is not a faithful copy of the original mythical guitar apart from the body shape.

Despite the fact that they look unweildy, they are incredibly comfortable to play and hang perfectly from a strap. Sitting down...not so much!

Chris,

I don't remember the original "Gibson" (Lukasic) having a cracked headstock or being repaired but that was a long time ago and my memory isn't what it used to be about that stuff. The Hamer Thunderbolt was sent to New Hartford for a headstock repair in 98 or 99. I remember I carved the neck on the Hamer Tbolt. It would be considered thin compared to todays Hamers.

To my eye, the 12th fret dots look strange on the Hamer Tbolt in the picture Serial posted. The spacing looks wider than typical Hamer spacing. It looks more like Gibson spacing. Could just be the photo or my tired eyes. They should be the same spacing as any other Hamer dot neck from that era.

I built a korina Thunderbolt body and neck in 2000. The one I built was a slightly different shape than the Hamer. It was truly a reversed mirror image of a Flying V (no that is not where my username comes from). The wing on the treble side of the Hamer and Lukasic is elongated compared to mine. Last I heard it ended up at a dealer in Illinois.

Details, details. Just let me buy one (Bob, are you up to making another one again?).

WHY wouldn't having a T-Bolt built by Hamer happen again? Because I'm not Rick Nielsen?

Tally, 6 in-line, no binding, ebony board, dots with 12th fret victory, sustain block, humbuckers, Tally 4-way blade, two volume and one tone, checkerboard case, and an opaque finish as voted on by the HFC. I like vintage cherry. Keep it under $2500.

Here's my quicky photoshop rendering, don't laugh!

At this time I'm not doing any type of guitar work. My regular job keeps me pretty busy.

For the HFC guitar I wouldn't mind seeing a Vector with Standard appointments (flame top, bound neck and body, Victory inlays, no pickguard, etc). I think they did a special run for a dealer last year.

Hell if I'm just dreaming why not add an L5 style fingerboard an inlays. Anyone have a picture of the Hamer V with that treatment? Doesn't someone here own that?

I could be off about the original one's headstock getting sent to Hamer for a headstock repair. I got to check out RN's Hamer version a few times before it was broken, so maybe that's why I thought it was the other one (??). I do remember discussing the repair on one of those with somebody. I'll have to confirm that bit from the owner.

As far as having "another" Tbolt built, the origin of that guitar has been denied before by some people in New Hartford, but it is the real deal. I don't think that's one you'll see rolling out to a dealer from CT any time soon...or ever. A few have suggested that before as well.

Well, here's an opportunity for Hamer to do it right, and REALLY make a statement! I can't think of anything that would be MORE unique than a HFC T-Bolt. I don't want to see a HFC model based on what's already been done (for a dealer? C'mon!!), like the aforementioned Vector, or any simple variants of a production model, past or present.

Unless I'm mistaken, almost EVERY HFC model has been a simple variation of a production model (Korina Standard with special serial number, Korina Artist with additional pickup, even the SB77 was, from a production standpoint, a variation on the Special FM).

I think this is where it's at.. I would think we would want it to be in reach of any HFC'er on the board not just the elite. I like the Tally idea, and hell who wouldn't love a V but sadly I own the best sounding Vector ever made and anything else for my would come in second.

Well we've had a Standard,Artist, some sort of Special, and El as done the Zandard, Greg had the run of Jr's. The Tally is an option that no one has done yet.

SO, a Tally with an inline headstock? I've heard Daytona, TLE, do we stick with Tally's neck shape or somthing else? Then we will move somthing else I'm excited of the Possibility's.

Monacos without the "shelf." The one on my SuperPro doesn't bother me at all visually or physically, but if Hamer could make the lower horn attach to the neck like a Talladega, I think you'd have a winner.

++++1 for McChris' suggestion!

Bingo, and give that man a cigar.

The rest of the bullshit surrounding the T-bolt subject is...well...bullshit.

How about a purple Improv with white EMGs and a Stike-approved glittery "HFC" on the pickguard.

If I could PhotoShop stuff, I think you might agree...

I like the Monaco and the Tally Idea's.. This would be a solid base to work off of. I believe someone mentioned a solid color for economic reasons, my vote would be for a Goldtop ( doen't have to be gold) style. You know Natural Back and solid color top. Gold, Black, Does hamer still do that Orange Sparkle that they did on some Newport that I've seen.. That's what I'm talking about. If we could get them to do that stlye paint in different colors on one of these guitars I believe we have may have a winner.

Well,

Monaco/with Tally Heal OR a Tally Pro (6inline headstock optional)

Solid slightly Sparkly finish. Like a Goldtop of sorts.

Someone inputed a pic with the typical 3 inline knobs.

What about Pickup Selection, Pickups, Binding, No Binding, Inlays...

Keep going this is interesting.

I'm voting for a Bound Body, Dot inlay's, and the only out there suggestion is a Checker HFC logo under the Hamer....

Talladega: 6 in line and round-back U-shaped neck profile. The current V shaped neck profile is enough to steer me away from the Tally. If the 6 in line doesn't happen, at least let's bring back the smaller Sunburst style headstock.

News needed from Hamer:

"We have the pleasure to announce that for the next 10 custom orders coming from HFC members we will build whatever they would ask us to build. This offer applies to only one order per customer."

I think it sould be a cheaper guitar. Like a Blitz or Sustain Block Special. but it SHOULD have the Standard 6 in-line Headstock. The body could even be multi-piece. Solid Colors (Red, Black, White, & Seafoam)

Now *that* would be sweet. I'd be dialing every 3 minutes until someone picked up the phone. Then every 2 minutes after that.
