belgian Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 With thanks for all the suggestions I got from this board : Arrived just on time, one day before my birthday. Tobacco sunburst no black, cognac center Ebony fingerboard Bound F-holes
JohnnyB Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Gotta love that 'burst with the creme pickups. Lots of times the pics don't pick up the subtleties of the gradations of the burst, but your pics show it very nicely. Definitely doesn't look like three go-rounds with 3 different cans of spray. Very subtle and hand-rubbed looking. Does it play or sound any good?
kizanski Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 That's a beaute!Love the subtle flame on the spruce!
Steve Haynie Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 That guitar sums up what beautiful can mean! It looks sooo right!
tbabinec Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Awesome! What music styles do you play? Give us a tone report. How does it compare to a strat?
Nuclear Wessel Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 belgian, you have outstanding taste. The aesthetics of that guitar are so tasteful! Congrats and Happy Birthday!
Kurt L Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Congratulations! That looks like an incredible guitar - I hope you really enjoy it!
Guest pirateflynn Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Way to Go! .............it looks great.I'll drink a Westmalle Trappist Triple in honor of your excellent addition!
Caddie Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 What about the back of the body & neck? Anything special there or just the standard dark red (burgundy?)? Sorry, I'm sure I have the color names wrong. My wife knows I'm color-lexic.....not color blind, just color challenged.Noonan

That's my only dissapointment, I tought if a sunburst was ordered, it came on the back too. My Newport pro has it (but I bought that one used)Is this an upgrade too ?
Steve Haynie Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 A sunburst back is something that I think only looks right on an arched back. On a flat back it doesn't seem right to me. However, some people like that sunburst on the back.
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 congrats, nice package! Bill, stop looking at his package.
belgian Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 I wear baggy trouses, so my package is well hidden!!
Guest galejt Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Nice! And if you ever visit JJPaul, you have the cheese slicer built in!
Hamer95USA Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Hey Belgian, Beautiful custom ordered Hamer guitar!!! I've never seen a Monaco with f-holes, the three P-90 pickups and a Bigsby vibrato bridge. The finish & inlays knocks me out. Happy birthday, dude!! Guitar George
atquinn Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Beautiful guitar! I don't like Hamer's single cuts, but for some reason, the Monaco III appeals to me. They seem to be pretty rare though so I haven't gotten the chance to try one out yet.-Austin
sw686blue Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Not my thing but gorgeous all the same!!!I love the color.Enjoy it!Nick
