carfish7 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Hastily posted with a promise of more pics and a detailed description, but many will know exactly what they are looking at anyways; Rare piece not often seen for sale, easy 9/10 condition with no issues. Comes in OHSC. I promise it will be cleaner than depicted in these pics when you get it. Flametop Pocket Piano goodness for $1750, or feel free to make a reasonable offer. Sorry, but no trades on this one. Thanks. Z 612-703-3990
Feynman Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Wow. I have no idea what I am looking at, but it's cool.
carfish7 Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 Wow. I have no idea what I am looking at, but it's cool. Bass guitar - many strings. Used thusly; There is a cool page about the hamer 12'vers here, just look for Basses on the left, then scroll to the Hamers. Lots of ccol customs shown; http://www.12stringbass.net/ Z
cmatthes Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Those are incredibly cool basses. Nothing sounds like one of those... Wish I was in the market for one right now! Is that an ultra mini Korina Standard I spy in that one pic?

mc2 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Is that Jeff Ament? If so, I had no idea he had a Hamer. Actually....Jeff STILL uses his Hamers (B12A Ament Models, B8A, some 90s Cruise Basses with his "bigfoot" headstock, a custom Duotone 12 Bass, etc.) He'd emailed me a few weeks back asking to buy one of my Jeff Ament Signature Model B12A's (I have two) like the one in the pic. They're hard to find and I think Hamer made less than 10 of them. Just sold one to Jeff today! I think it speaks volumes when an endorser is willing to pony up the bucks to BUY what he plays!

Cool man! Did yours have the 2 boomers and the same textured finish? I have been playing "Jeremy" really loud for the last 1/2 hour after that video viewing - thanks for that. Those guys rocked the world for a minute, eh? Some more pics; This is a '99, and is showing a very few minor impressions and a couple patches of tiny, fingerprint-sized areas where he finish has done what it does when you don't wipe the pizza off your fingers. Looks like fine dust that you just can't wife off. I'll try to get pics of the spots in question if I can. Inside the "soundhole", there is a paint chip about as big as this O that has been touched up. The EMG's sound great, and the strings are nicely mellowed for a sweet tone. I'm still calling it a solid "9" out of 10. I love this thing, and wish I could figure out a way to keep it around here, but someone is gonna get a great piece of playable Hamer history. Looks like a one-piece back, and a 5-piece maple neck. The top is really nice and impossible to represent in these pics. Nicely executed '59 Burst over a consistently striped classic Hamer top (always a nice chunk of wood on these Hamers it seems). This will be heading for Ebay soon, so don't be afraid to make an offer before the unwashed masses get a crack at it. Any questions, feel free to call me @ 612-703-3990. Z
carfish7 Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 Coupla flash shots to attempt to show the flameage. It is overcast here today, but I WILL do this thing justice. Z

I have been playing "Jeremy" really loud for the last 1/2 hour after that video viewing - thanks for that. Those guys rocked the world for a minute, eh? One of mine has the two boomers and the other has a pao ferro fingerboard. Jeff took the pao ferro one. It's actually the "rarer" one, since I think all the other Ament Model B12A's had the boomers. I also recently sold a mint darkburst B12A with an ebony fingerboard to a friend. ...but I still have a few B12A's left I think they sound the best of all the 12vers but they certainly are big and heavy for playing live. Petersson HAS to have back problems after playing them nightly for years.
serial Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Ament played Hamers alot. Heres what the "Ament headstock" looks like... The B12-As rock.
carfish7 Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Off to Evibay but still open to offers from youze guise.Z
