Brownsound Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I have spent a few days with my new Vector and it has a distinctive tone. Not a whole lot of bottom, lots of low mids with an interesting "twang" to the top end. Its interesting that I wouldnt say that the sound is either fat or thin. Very expessive and sweet sounding. Those 59s are not very hot at all, I find myself pushing the OD up for overdrive sounds.I can really see why blues players love these things...the tone is right in slot.Whos next?
hardheartedbill Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I've played several gigs w/ your new guitar, I echo your feelings, a very special "middle" tone w/ a nice upper definition, it's an amazing axe, enjoy!
Brownsound Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 I used my MRS8 protable studio and I recorded an impromptu song with the Vector. Its raw but I may post it.
BCR Greg Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Mine has a HUGE bottom. Kinda like Jlo, really nice everywhere and some extra junk in the trunk.
Brownsound Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 Its not devoid of bottom but my R7 and 61 SG RI has more.
BCR Greg Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Mine is a 97, #72 of the original 72 made. It KILLS. With the black guard and plate that I made.... As it looks now, sporting the tort bits and Rios. Bad ass deluxe.
formula73 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 IIRC, 1997 #29 was really, really bright, almost shrill. I dug it. Man, did it cut - always....'til it got stolen.I don't suppose it's popped up anywhere yet, eh?
BCR Greg Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 When it goes, we'll find that MF and give him a blanket party. With chains.
