specialk Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 P've got a Bare Knuckle Mule pickup in the neck of my Special FM. The previous owner put it in. It kills. Very sweet at lower volumes, and nice and throaty when the volume comes up. I'd call them high end pickups. And damn good ones, too. Edit to add link: http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/ZH-themule.html
Armitage Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 A lot of people talk highly of them, but I haven't heard them myself.
Siaip Ciuvas Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 yeah, this clip from them brought massive GAS fewer to me:

specialk Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 they are still on their way to me, I'm afraid...Congrats on getting the BK pickups. I am sure you will be pleased. The neck one in my Special FM is as good as it gets. Love it!
dboy66 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Had the factory install a BK Mule set in my custom order Studio Custom Goldtop.
jaberwock Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 BKP are high end , hand wound, pickups from the southwest of England, Tim the owner winds all the single coils personally, I have a set of "mothers milk" on one of my Strats and they are they are the equal of Lollar's, and Fralin's to my ears. Never tried the humbuckers though. Jaberwock
Siaip Ciuvas Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I'm still on business trips, but next week promises more time at home, so that I would have some time to use soldering iron and give some kick on these pups. Stay tuned.

Stay tuned. You did it at this point, right? Pictures of that V with its new pups, please!
Siaip Ciuvas Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 not yet Guilty as charged - having kickass guitar and pups separated
marantz1300 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 not yet  Guilty as charged - having kickass guitar and pups separated Did you get the pickus ? I have a Tele with Yardbirds and have had Apaches in a Musicman Silhouette plus Crawlers in a Les Paul Custom and VH11s in a Les Paul Classic. They were all good. The Apaches I bought used, one not working.I sent them to BKP and they were returned the next week repaired for five pounds.Great after service.
Siaip Ciuvas Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 pickups are here, but I am so busy, that I have no time to play, not even mention some soldering...
zorrow Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I want a present for Christmas: a picture of your white Vector with the new pickups and a couple of sound clips.
Siaip Ciuvas Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 next week will do that! maaan, its really crazy at work and at the university... Corporate Finances exam tommorow, and I will be having some free evenings for sorting stuff that is waiting for me for sooo long :angry:Cheers!
Siaip Ciuvas Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 ha! wanted to make early christmas gift for Ionel, but alas - guitar is specifically built for these pups. Pups cavities ar routed for triangular pup "ears", while bareknukles are rectangles as most of them are and do not fit. There is no way in hell I will modify the cavity and modifying BKs doesn't look like a brilliant idea to me too. I think I need Monaco Elite to make some use of BKs In the meantime, I will try to find some time to install them into my Studio Custom and give it a short recording spank. however... I put couple of mics in front of two prototype cabs and plugged into prototype smallwatter head. You decided how it all sounded (no effects applied, just reverb and both cabs panned left-right). Oh - sorry for my sloppy playin skill http://soundcloud.com/dainiusu/hamer-vector-test
specialk Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I think I need Monaco Elite to make some use of BKs They work and sound great in a Special FM too!
Siaip Ciuvas Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 ouch, somehow link is broken and the file is left on my studio laptop. Will upload again in 12 hours from now, sorry

zorrow Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Hey man! You rhythm tone sounds very Queen-ish! Absolutely love it! Thanks a lot for posting this! BTW, too bad the pups didn't fit to that axe, but now that's a great reason to buy just another guitar, isn't it?
