jwhitcomb3 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Top 50 Acoustic GuitaristsInteresting how nylon and steel string guitars were lumped together. I doubt most classical or flamenco guitarists would identify themselves as playing "acoustic guitar."-Jonathan
specialk Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 #21. Bob Dylan #38. Al DiMeola Pretty much sums up that list for me. Garbage.
HSB0531 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I'd like to nominate these two for the "anything with strings on it" category.John McFee (Doobie Bros.)Roy Clark (if you have to ask.....)

cynic Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I don't follow the acoustic scene very closely, but if we are lumping all styles into one pile Carlos Montoya should have been in there somewhere. I remember being amazed as a kid when digging thru my folks vinyl and coming across a few of his records.+1 on Roy Clark.....along with Carlos, my folks always knew to look in my room first for his records.
Brooks Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 tommy emanuael should be #1,rodrigo y gabriella should be in top 10.

I remember being amazed as a kid when digging thru my folks vinyl and coming across a few of his records. Yeah. If they're going to mention Segovia, they should also mention Montoya and Narciso Yepes, and maybe Julian Bream and/or Christopher Parkening as well. Narciso Yepes

hectorp Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Happy to see Kaki King near the top. She's is a total inspiration (and she plays Hamers when she's playing electric)
SteveB Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Flamenco is not well represented. Paco De Lucia at 27? No Carlos Montoya or Sabicas. Gimme a fricken break. And McLaughlin at 30? what the hell is Dylan even doing on that list? Songwriter list sure... guitar player list. Nuh uh.
