whiskeyzulu Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I can't decide if he's serious or not - its too comical - those timed head/hair flips in the classic piece reminds me of an SNL skit.
Gino Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I knew there are still true guitar heros out there...!!
diablo175 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 No amp fires here, but definately some Zoolander going on...starting at .30 and then more at .47 At least Vai has a plethora of talent and creativity to back up the goofy faces. That first clown had zilch.
Feynman Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 One for Mitch:Thanks - truly inspirational.
cmatthes Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Sadly, I don't think it's a gag.I think the guy believes he actually looks/sounds like a serious player in those videos.(Hint to "that guy"...you're not!)If he's not doing it all as a joke, that's pretty sad.
earachemyeye Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Love it. It's perfectly understated. Or totally delusional. Thanks MC.
hardheartedbill Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 I thought I was gonna shit my pants when he did the bow/flourish thing at the end
atquinn Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 This definitely beats the "shreds" videos! - Austin
unfun75 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 He's the Ted M. of metal.Ted Martin?No, the infamous "tedm" from The Gear Page forum.This guy: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ampguy

Sparky Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Love the martial arts stance at the very beginning. "Kiai!!"
Rodan Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 That's a pretty sweet basement/garage he's got going with the fog machine and 100 watt lamps. I think he left the door open behind the amps though and it obviously affected his tone. The scalloped frets combined with the columbine black trenchcoat really contributed to the seriousness. And the delay, wow. What a very inventive use. Never would have thought to leave it on for all 4 minutes. A genius!!!!!+1. Really unimpressive. Vanity Project Deluxe.
Hamerhack Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Remember this guy?Reviving a classic HFC moment, just because.
carfish7 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 This is a gag, right? I mean, I'm all for folks expressing themselves and getting off on whatever they choose to practice as a discipline, but it has to be done without injuring others. That was painful. Like the bikers who rip around with loud pipes and behave like dicks, giving all motorcyclists a bad name this does the same for guitar players. Has to be a gag. Right?!?
rj2858 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 And yet, not bad enough to make me long to hear any more of either Henry Kaiser or Derek Bailey from last weeks post.
Studio Custom Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Sadly, I don't think it's a gag.I think the guy believes he actually looks/sounds like a serious player in those videos.(Hint to "that guy"...you're not!)If he's not doing it all as a joke, that's pretty sad.Seems like a combination of meth and hemorrhoidal flair up to me, but not being an expert on either, it's only a guess.
Jeff R Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I first thought it was staged in his Mom's basement, but the size of the "venue" leads me to believe it was staged in his buddy's bay at Jiffy Lube after hours. That was a parody, right?
rj2858 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 It gets better!Watch Parts 2, 3 and his "Exercise" videos
