Citrus Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Out of print on CD, and I have no turntable to play my old vinyl copyCan anyone burn me one????
Disturber Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Sorry, dont have that one. Have the studio albums on vinyl. The Best Off single CD, and the full CD Box Set with lots of live stuff. Don´t know, however if the live stuff from the box set is from that album. I'm not at home, so I can't check....
Bloozguy Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Greg, I don’t have “Coast to Coast: Overture and Beginners” either...and I'm not crazy about spending $60 for a used copy I do have “Faces Box: Five Guys Walk Into a Bar” and “Rod Stewart: The Mercury Anthology” which between them have: Angel (Live/BBC) Cut Across Shorty (Live/BBC) I Wish It Would Rain (Live) I’d Rather Go Blind (Live) Jealous Guy (Live) Stay With Me (Live/BBC) and Too Bad (Live) I don’t have anything that has a live version of Borstal Boys or It’s All Over Now. If you can’t find someone who has “Coast to Coast” I’d be happy to burn you a disc with those tracks.
elduave Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I was in FYE the other night and saw that box set for $23 used. Is that a good get?
BubbaVO Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Are there turntables with USB ports that can convert the analog signal into something the computer can record? Or an adapator that essentially does the same thing?
zenmindbeginner Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I got it, lemme get a chance to upload it somewhere and give the link some time today.
Disturber Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I was in FYE the other night and saw that box set for $23 used. Is that a good get? This box set is bloody mandatory for any rock guitarist. These guys swing and groove like no other. A band as great, or greater, as the Stones of the 70´s era. Is say you go back there and buy it NOW! EDIT: And Zenmindbeginner, I'd like that link too, if possible?
elduave Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I'm considering it strongly, Disturber! Got the Black Crowes link BTW, thanks.
GASguy Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Coast to Coast: Overture and Beginners was my favorite Faces LP, it was well played back in the day.
specialk Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I'd dig a link to the upload as well, ZMB. Thanks!
elduave Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 The box set was actually $30, but I just grabbed it!
Disturber Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Way to go! You'll have fun with these guys.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUB0Io1E_DQ
zenmindbeginner Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 It's uploading now.it's a vinyl rip (YAY!) from one of my Dad's albums. The album is in really good shape and the rip went flawlessly. All tags are good (even the songwriters are in there)Album cover art is a whopping 1230x1230 from a high res scan corrected in PhotoshopThe only caveat is that since it is in my collection, I faded out the songs so that they stand alone and can be combined in mixes and playlists without the weird abrupt endings that a continuous concert can have. The continual flow of the concert has been interrupted but I do that because I still DJ from time to time and all of my music has the beginnings and ends snipped or faded so I don't have to worry about it when I am DJing. Sorry guys, it's just how I do things.I'll PM those who requested the link ASAP.
specialk Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Got the link and it downloaded just fine. Thanks ZMB!(now to find a way to extract the .rar file and import the cuts into iTunes). I have a Mac, so it'll be easy, hopefully.
zenmindbeginner Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Oops, I've been archiving and decompressing on my PC... I think that the Mac can't do it without a third party software. There are a couple of free versions out there but I have no experience with any of them. I guess I'm a little too used to winrar, sorry man.
specialk Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 On Edit:Easy as pie! Opened the folder with Stuffit Expander (free from the App Store). It created a new folder with mp3 format. Drag the new folder to iTunes. Done. Perfect! They sound great. I like the fadeins/outs.
