And another...........

This guitar, the Himmelschlüssel (translated: "Key to heaven") it’s the original prototype (of only 13 ever made) and was made around 1980. This MB Himmelsschlüssel was originally designed and made by two luthiers far ahead of their time: Christian Müller and Roland Bauer. This particular guitar was build for Timo Gross. An excellent and important blues guitarist from Germany. (Taken from the Fellowship of Acoustics website).

Thats a brave design, there must be a lot of stress on the top of the body,I wonder how it sounds?

Kizanski's revolving door post inspired me to list out all the guitars I've owned in my lifetime. I used to have one of these, which I bought mainly because it was unusual/ugly:

Some guitars are ugly until you try them. The Futura/Rick Nielsen body is very comfortable, more than the Explorer/Standard when sitting down.

Until you have driven an AMC Pacer, don't knock 'em.

Who made that one? I think it looks pretty cool.

Fender made those under the Heartfield name. Had the single active pickup that with those three push buttons you see by the trem bar you could select single coil, humbucker or humbucker with distortion (had three trim pots in the control cavity for tone, level and drive).

I ended up selling it to the Hard Rock Cafe when I worked there so we could have a guitar on hand for Eddie Van Halen to sign when he was in town for an all-star Jason Becker benefit concert. Got to hang with him in the manager's office while he did so. Somewhere in the HRC collection this one is floating around with his signature on it.

Well some real treats here for fans of the weird and wonderful !

Not sure if it counts as its not really a guitar but heres a pic of a Stepp DGX Synth controller.

I had one of these in the late 80's during my flirtation with electronic music/synths.

It was far and away the best way for me (as a non keyboard player) to play the noises in my synths.

This is what happens if you leave your Strat in your pocket and it goes through the washer and dryer.

I think it's awesome!
