JohnnyB Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 When I was bumming a Greg Lake guitar pick a tech said, "Here-- have a valve out of Keith's organ." Ewwww.
tbabinec Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Lots of good suggestions. I'll add Larry Young. In addition to his own records as a leader, he played with the likes of John McLaughlin, Tony Williams, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, and Carlos Santana. He died of untreated pneumonia at age 38 in 1978.

m chops Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Was it Greg Roli who played on the first couple of Santana albums?
G Man Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 The Jimmy and Wes Dynamic Duo albums are INSANE! Tone heaven indeed.Be prepared to have your hair set on fire during this one.I was fortunate enough to catch Jimmy Smith when I was living in London in 96, one of the best jazz (?) shows I have ever witnessed, and he was already an old man by that time.
benjammin308 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Had a beer with Billy Powell (Lynyrd Skynyrd) in the Nashville airport about a year before he died. I always thought his piano parts were tasteful compliments to their songs, and he was a great guy to talk to to boot. He was getting loaded before he had to get on that plane...
