carfish7 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Frozen Jam you say?"Scattered snow showers before 7pm, then a chance for flurries before ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -4. Wind chill values between -9 and -19. Windy, with a west northwest wind 21 to 31 mph decreasing to 11 to 21 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%."That wind nearly knocked me to the ground, and I am a sturdy mofo to say the least. Bundle up!
earachemyeye Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Well I'm sitting here in a puddle of my own snot so I'm out for this one. Have fun all. I know you will. Some things you should just keep to yourself... YUCK! Have fun, wish I could make it!Of course you're right. My apologies to all who were grossed out.
BruceM Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Sorry you couldn't make it last night Joe! We missed your warm, sunny disposition and your ability to sing like a young Robert Plant! Luckily we had Alicia around for awhile to fill in on the Robert Plant duties. What a fun night! Thanks to everyone who showed up on a cold, blustery MN evening. The 4-3-2-1 Club was hoppin'!! As I've said many times before, hanging out with these people is one of the best things I do for myself. I didn't take many pictures yesterday, but there's a few on the 4-3-2-1 Club Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/4321Club Maybe someone else has a few they can post.
ScottM Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 While some Frozen Jams seem to go undocumented, I managed to grab a few photos before the lens froze shut. It was a great night with some incredible guitar playing. The MC is always at the ready! Eric and Rob take over the mics. Ray's fixin to get up and play some... Consistently the happiest guy at the 4-3-2-1! Shred bombing the E! Eric getting all psychedelic on us... This is why we come... This is why I come... Having some fun now! You go low, I'll go high. A pair of Bruce's...
earachemyeye Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Yea sucks to be me. What? I see no pics of the talented young siren who stood in for me.
Jeff R Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I read Vonnie the frigid forecast from earlier in the thread and then showed her the photos from last night.Vonnie: "Notice it's only the guys from Minnesota. And they are all blue." LOLShe and I smiled at the familiar faces and wished we could have been there. Fun times in that basement always!
Eric Weston Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I had a great time as always....It was so good to see everyone again!!!I haven't been able to make it out there for quite a while and hopefully made up for that last night.I probably played a bit too much, my fingers and wrists are achin'.I certainly drank a bit too much, the head was a poundin' this morning!!!Special thanks to Ray(Bloozguy) for the growlers and for bringing that Red Robin out to play, that thing sounded/played awesome ( for not being a Hamer!).
BadgerDave Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Ahhh, I miss the Twin Cities gang. Glad to see you all in photos at least. And very happy to see Bill with all of his appendages. MC and I will make it up there before the thaw.
Spike Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Damn. I soooo wanted to make this. I had three other things on the schedule for Saturday and, by juggling them, I thought I might possibly be able to fit this in. An email from my boss Saturday morning kind of shot everything all to hell. (Not his fault, BTW.) Looks like a great time was had by all! I'm really sorry I had to miss it. ScottM, thanks for posting the pics. They're much appreciated by those of us that couldn't be there. BruceM, one of these days I'll get there and actually be able to check out your Silver Standard. When is the next jam again?
carfish7 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I had a swell time too, even though I aggravated my tennis elbow from all the playing. Or maybe it was from WATCHING tennis.......Thanks to Bruce and all the gang for making my bro feel welcome, too. He said it was excruciating and blissful all at the same time. I think a certain redhead caught his attention, and I was happy to see Mr Weston back in the rotation. We certainly had a shortage of singers, but more than made up for it in long blues jams I guess. Thanks for leading us down that funky path, Bill. You guys are the BEST!
shredmeister Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 It was a cold one ! Long songs, short songs, singing, no singing - doesn't matter much to me - its all good and always fun !I use to do 30 to 45 minute straight jams with no singing before I started coming to these Hamer jams.It is a bummer though when we practice a new tune and Joe can't make it to sing. Take more vitamin C damn it !Singing was a bit sparce. Hell I think I even managed the balls to get up there and sang a tune LOL !!!
goldrum Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Always a privilege to play with such fine musicians. Thanks to everyone, especially Bruce for hosting.
