zorrow Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 TA-DA!!!! My custom order is done. This is a dream come true, something I had always had in mind and never had the chance to get it built -had previously contacted RS Guitars and they wouldn't do it. But thanks to gorch here, I finally found the right builder to make me this, exactly to my specs -chunky neck and 24.75" scale included. Please, meet my Scheithauer Mayday-V: Now it's done, ready to get shipped to me. But I guess she will spend some few weeks at gorch's in Germany first -still have to arrange this with him, as he seems now not very sure about it. In any case, I can't wait to have it in my hands!
polara Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I love it! Wow, you are one lucky and determined SOB. Bet it plays great, too. Enjoy.
gorch Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 It was an honor being allowed to follow up the order and building process. It looks much better than the original shape, doesn't it?
svl Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Z, that is one fantastic looking axe. Major congrats, can't wait to hear more about her after she arrives.
Steve Haynie Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Whoa! There is something familiar looking about that V, but I cannot put my finger on it. Hmmm...

It's me who is honored. Also, how would I have been able to wait so long without having someone to dump my anxiety on?
zorrow Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Awesome. What kind of tremolo is that? It's a copy of the original, which is named "knife edge trem", as far as I know.Well, you do know it's a V-shaped take on Brian May's Red Special, do you?
mathman Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Duh, I did not catch that. Thanks for the slap in the head!
Rodan Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 That right there is a persuasive blend of clever and really well done! Congrats! Makes me think there'd be a market for May-ified versions of familiar guit shapes...
