Did I do okay on this Diablo?

Not sure what the market is for these, but I just bought one! I remember selling my red reverse-headstock maple fretboard '92 on here maybe 4 or 5 years ago for 375-ish.

I saw that this one had been sitting on Reverb for a long time, being sold by a big shop somewhere. It started at 725, he had gone down to 525. Shot them a lowball $400 offer, and he unexpectedly accepted.

Is that about the going rate? I really liked my last one either way, even if I paid a bit too much.

Almost the HFC tree fiddy mark so I would say bloody well done, a great score.

Nothing even comes close to a USA made Hamer for that price.

Yeah the neck is really what sold me on it honestly. looks awesome. i know these guitars aren't really in style now - especially with my 20-something age group - but damn if I don't love them.

$400 for a USA Hamer sounds like a steal. I have heard by many hear that the Diablo was under priced by Hamer out the gate, does that have any relationship to the current market price? Or is it considered a 5 to 6 hundred dollar guitar based on the sound and quality? If you can get one for $400, I cannot think of another guitar for Rock at that price that matches it.

damn. That was a GREAT deal. nice finish, appears to be in great shape, and has that kicking birds eye neck. Only 'down side" is the lack of the original case.

Yup. If you had paid any lower, someone would've had to call the police to report a theft. Excellent deal and sweet rawk machine.

My fave Diablo came in at around the $400 mark, though it was not nearly as nice as yours and had the passive SD p'ups replaced with EMGs. I've since put SD Blackouts in and and added a toggle switch (shocker, I know) and it's my go-to guit when I'm practicing new tunes, techniques or just jamming along with iTunes. You just can't beat it for the money.

Awesome! Great job! The price isn't quite unbelievable. Darn close, tho.

...it's a shame about all that mold spotting on the back of the neck, tho.

You did just fine. We are all jealous, I mean, proud of you! ;-)

Thanks guys. It's not quite as good as the CS USA Special that I scored for $250 last year, but it seems like I did okay. The body has some dents and dings, but I'll live with it. I'm hoping I can learn to get along with a Floyd again - been awhile since I had one. I've been playing a bunch of Telecasters lately so this is going to be a big adjustment.

I know it does with many, but since I am not a reseller, I could care less about dings, and would happily pay less for a guitar with superficial flaws. With the dings, you got a steal. And it's the Aztec Gold natural look, my personal favorite.

I liked it. 'nuff said. :)

Yes, you most certainly did get a good deal.
