depends on what YOU want. Also if you are a heavy picker, I would get a clear pickguard at least. However it's all up to YOU. On opaque finishes, whatever. You're just covering up something opaque. With flame maple caps then it's a bit harder, or if you got a fancy metal flake finish.

Unbound - yes, bound - NO

You know, that's actually spot-on.

After seeing the posts of the unbound korina and 'hog Standards (I hadn't considered when I posted a blanket "NO"), I like this philosophy better.

Although, the tobacco burst with the tort guard on page 1 is pretty cool....

Say no to a pick guard . Instead conceder adding a second Kahler where a pick guard would be . Two Kahlers are clearly better then one and one can never have too much of a good thing .

Now we all know that we don't need pickguards, but if you just want to save your guitar from any scraps, you can make a template and just cut out some of that static film and lay over it. You can't see it and it will do the job. NO PICKGUARDS!

I am thinking the maple cap on my Ultimate is gonna be way too pretty to hide under a PG.

I have never been this excited about a guitar since, well, 1978 when I took possession of my first and only Explorer....
