dgstandard Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 Option 7. NO! They suck on any standard!-AustinDone! Option 7 now exists.
Guest gearwhore Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Dude, everything is wrong with me. So Wrong, it's Right. Wanna buy a Vector? All hog, no pickguard. vector for sale...you just got that...lol...if you are really selling it..hit me up.
tbonesullivan Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 depends on what YOU want. Also if you are a heavy picker, I would get a clear pickguard at least. However it's all up to YOU. On opaque finishes, whatever. You're just covering up something opaque. With flame maple caps then it's a bit harder, or if you got a fancy metal flake finish.
Guest gearwhore Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 ^LOL - did you at least vote? oh yes I did....NO PICKGUARD..lol
DBraz Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Most certainly NO.Let the wood speak for itself and to hell with a few swirly scratches.
velorush Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Unbound - yes, bound - NOYou know, that's actually spot-on. After seeing the posts of the unbound korina and 'hog Standards (I hadn't considered when I posted a blanket "NO"), I like this philosophy better. Edited for punkchiatun
aknapp Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Qo'!Although, the tobacco burst with the tort guard on page 1 is pretty cool....
Roshark Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Say no to a pick guard . Instead conceder adding a second Kahler where a pick guard would be . Two Kahlers are clearly better then one and one can never have too much of a good thing .
Bobby Marshall Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 My friends have something to say on this . . . Pickguards?!? We don't need no stinking pickguards!!!
bubs_42 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Now we all know that we don't need pickguards, but if you just want to save your guitar from any scraps, you can make a template and just cut out some of that static film and lay over it. You can't see it and it will do the job. NO PICKGUARDS!
Jakeboy Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I am thinking the maple cap on my Ultimate is gonna be way too pretty to hide under a PG. I have never been this excited about a guitar since, well, 1978 when I took possession of my first and only Explorer....
