velorush Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Rival Sons on Letterman (found this on YouTube this AM)http://youtu.be/NhjMWekZbmEFiltertrons in a Firebird! I like it! Bass sounds great on this, as well!
duncans Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I'm not sure about Rival Sons, guess I haven't listened to them enough. BTW I believe that guitar is a Kauer Banshee. Saw that on Kauers FB page.

If so, that would be extremely interesting!

Doug Kauer builds the Banshees at a similar 24.75" scale length. Finally, yes...Filtertrons sound great in pretty much anything!
Tres Aardvarks Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I totally dig Rival Sons. I'd give my left eye tooth to have a drummer like that!
elduave Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 That drummer impresses me with the sound he gets from a relatively restrained motion. Live, I was also struck by his dynamics. I like his live sound a little better than his recorded sound, onece explained as a little fatiguing to hear over a long stretch due to retro production approach.

I didn't like that particular guitar (very wide flat neck), so I marked it down as a guitar I like the looks of, but that's where the curiosity ended. Not sure where I got the idea of the longer scale length, but I've carried that error for a really long time. Good to learn things I've been too lazy to look up for myself!
Ting Ho Dung Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 That was simply so simply simple and simply fantastic!! Thanks for that. That dude sports some serious pedal board SCHWAGG too.
MCChris Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 This reminds me, I need to watch their Later With Jools Holland appearance.

You probably thought that because Firebird-style guitars just "look" long.
