Tech 21 Flyrig 5 - Opinions

Any experience with these? I've liked the TM60 well enough. I'm getting the effects itch again and these seem pretty good at a reasonable price.

It is what it is, A FLY RIG. You can go straight into the front of any amp or FX Loop or Straight to the board. Great Backup, but its not going to replace anything if you have something good already.

The only minor quibble I have with it is they didn't include an XLR out like on the Trademark 60. That would have made it (in my mind) perfect, but it's just a quibble (had they included that, I'm sure I'd have found some other fatal flaw... ).

The demos sound great to me though.

The unit Ritchie uses is actually the RK5, which came out a little bit after the Fly Rig. It has his OMG pedal instead of the Plexi module. Many "rockers" seem to prefer the RK5.

headstock tuners are great when you are playing alone, but they suck when the bassist/drummer/DJ is not quiet when you are trying to tune! try tuning up with a headstock tuner just before your set while the house music is still blaring!! true story.

I always found it ironic that with all the models Line6 could build, they couldn't model a Boss TU-2 or build a usable tuner into their products. Too obvious, perhaps?

I have one, the flyrig, not the headstock tuner

I like it, it isn't the "end-all" butI can dial in a predictable sound regardless of the amp I am using.it sounds great direct. Has a tap tempo delay(now a must have) a great reverb, a boost, and turns a clean amp into a three channel head-turner. It can fit in your guitar case/gigbag. Anyone in the Dallas area is more than welcome to check out mine.

Loved the demo vid. I may replace the hd400 with one. Love the simplicity and always dig tech 21 sounds

Only if you play a Strat. It won't fit in a Les Paul Hamer Studio case.

Seems to be from the demos. Im just finding this unit and its exactly what Ive been needing. Im just hating the line 6 in live application plus I only use delay verb and OD PLUS I do a ton of direct gigs. I love my Tophat and this can be the verb unit I was going to buy, its only a few bu ks more
