I gravitated to the flattop.

You will not be disappointed!

It was honestly a very tough call for me after spending time with both.

Chris, How would you describe the neck on the Maverick?  Mike described it as a medium D. I feel like my '79 Sunburst has more shoulder in its profile (leaning more D than C?) than my SB77 or my '99 Standard. I like all three of those necks, though favoring the '79 a bit.  I would appreciate your input!

If built to customer spec, there's no description that matters but your own

I know.  I'd like to go with Mike's standard neck though.  As long as it's not described as skinny, I'm sure I'll be fine.  [[ just very excited in the WAIT ]]

LOL.

Doublecuts are my favorite.

Same for me. Explorer, SG, reverse Firebird shapes don't work for me.

It also helped that I didn't have the cash when the initial run was announced.

Although, if it is the one, thinning the  herd would not be out of the question! So there is a possibility.

I sold 5 guitars last year and one already this year....

But i needed to do that anyways...

I also went with the DC. I think I may have been able to squeeze in on the original run but knew I didn't want the explorer shape. I didn't want to take the opportunity away from someone else in the HFC. So I waited. The neck's on the Shishkov's. DC and SC are bigger than the Hamer vintage carve but not 58 59 LP territory.

I also am not really a fan of the Explorer body shape at all. I like doublecut LP Jr style guitars. I also can tolerate single cuts as long as they are comfortable and sound great.

Just like you, Shawn!

No, he had major wood above the neck area.

Well yeah, it's probably chambered too, but I didn't want to be mean.

I wasn't sure where the number "sixty-five" or "0065" has been referenced.

I had not heard that Mike was either going that high on the current numbering scheme or that he had locked in that number for somebody doing a custom order?
