OK, for you "Columbo" types, focusing your attention on the neck reveals a big clue one of the minor options Mike graciously agreed to do for me.

All I can see is that he left out the first fret inlay :P

Just get an inlay on every fret.

Except the frets that normally get them!

Hell, just make the fingerboard out of Abalone.

When I picked up 0029 and commented to Mike how pretty the inlays were, he said "That's nature."

I love the inlays in my Ultimate. And Mr. Boomerang Junkie, the inlays on yours look especially nice, but I think Mike kind of showed his outlook with that comment.

Yeah, I get it, he's only showing off what nature has already done, but he does it in such a fantastic way.

0044 looks great!

7es, the figured inlays on 0006 are just stunning. Like the rest of the guitar..... ;)

I have NO idea how Mike does this so exceptionally well every time . . . . .

Divinely inspired?

He's a seasoned professional who loves his work.  This is a natural side effect of that. :)

cool... I actually like frets over binding.  Have a custom shop dean with nicely rolled dges over the binding. love it.  Could not

understand the national freakout over the lack of nibs on 2014 Gibson's.

Wish that I had thought of a Sustain Block as a possible option. So Cool. B)
