cmatthes Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 Set neck - I don't think MIke will be doing bolt ons.
ptm1diver Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Chris I disagree. Mike's Frankenstein guitar will have a bold on neck.

cmatthes Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 Sorry Shawn! Priorities - I know!! Back to the neck, since that had to sit for a while to ensure rock-solid stability...
cmatthes Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 After that top sat for a while, it was time to cut it out - this is when things really began to take shape and I got a better idea of what that beautiful wood would look like in a few months! The second and fourth pics show the rough blank(s). The third pic, the "firewood frames" of that run, is one of my favorites that Mike has shared.
cmatthes Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 After the newly glued up and cut out top/Korina body sat (cured) for a few weeks, Mike did some finer cutting/shaping...

PaGator Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Wow, the matching is incredible, what a beauty
cmatthes Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 The fretboard work is some of the coolest stuff to see Mike do, in my opinion. This is the jet black ebony board with perfect MOP Crown inlays and triple stacked Ivoroid binding...
DBraz Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 As guitars go... First. I like playing guitars. Second. I like admiring them up close. Third. Threads like this that just enforce what wonderful craftsmanship exists in a well built guitar. Outstanding.
ArnieZ Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 It's just going to be another blow me away Shishkov, this never gets tiring ArnieZ
cynic Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I'm jonesing to know what pickups you went with for this.
cmatthes Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 I thought I'd request something a little different for the side dots... Not going to lose THESE on a dark stage!
The Shark Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I'm guessing that might shed a little "light" on the top color...
Steve Haynie Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 That was a good decision to have Luminlay side dots on your new guitar.
Hamerica Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Another Stellar Build by Mr. Shishkov. "It's just going to be another blow me away Shishkov, this never gets tiring." - Arnie Z Thank pretty much sums them all up. All Shishkovs are cool yet this one just seems to have another "whoa" moment; the neck, the Luminlay, the quilt, the KORINA, the binding and just "whoa". Hamerica
