Brooks Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Sold my Duotone around 2011 when I thought I was done w/ acoustic duo gigs. This week I saw a Peavey Generation EXP ACM locally for cheap. Even though I dislike Tele-ish guitars and am not playing any acoustic gigs, I offered up a cheap Ibanez trade and snagged it yesterday. Only tried it briefly thru a headphone amp in the dudes driveway (& my small PA upstairs isn't set up right now). I'm not crazy about the Fender-ish nut width & radius; it has a round strat type neck heel so I planned on dropping my Warmoth rosewood board strat neck in (as I have a sexy maple reverse CBS on order for my #1), but while the joint fits it has a different layout (less neck forward, longer heel pocket) and I suspect it won't intonate. BUT I do like the jumbo frets / HSS setup / electric & acoustic outputs, overall it seems like a good cheap utility guitar. In other NGD (NHC) news, on a whim last month I traded my Strandberg for a Schecter E-1 FR S Special Edition Sustainiac. Totally doesn't fit in w/ my current middle-aged-Fender stage, and is heavy as heck and kinda ridiculous looking, man it is a frickin' BLAST to play, great action/neck/sustainer/floyd... Probably will trade it off in a year or two, as I do...
